Well mom,
i guess you have to respect your sons decision. Adam is the age that people mature and begin to live their lives the way they want. This is when young adults start thinking about marriage, school, careers, etc... In this case, his disease. Of course he's considering your advice, but he doesnt necessarily have to go by it. Before any problems start, wait his decision out till his eeg in novemeber, considering its not that long away. See how things go... Relax and let him make this dicision. As for his doctor, I think he/ she is just respecting what adam wants. Every doctor has to go by what his/her patient wants, and confidentiality is the law. Thats not the doctors decision. Look at this way... Teens go on birth control all the time whether their parents like it or not. It's kind along the same line. So, talk to your son, and dont force your opinions on him yet. I'm sure this is hard for him too.
Best of luck,
sarah
