Hey all,

so I don’t really know where to start. Basically for as long as I can remember I have been a worrier, suffered from the worst mood swings, cried at the smallest thing etc etc etc but I had always but it down to hormones (that time of the month again). That was until about 3 months ago when I suffered from what I now know was my first panic attack. I know this sounds silly but I actually thought I was going to die. It took 3 visits to the doctor before I told him about it and he has now put me on a waiting list for a counselor, which is fine, but the list is 13 weeks long and I need help now! My boyfriend has been very patient and understanding so far (he’s the only one who knows) but i’m scared his patience will run out. Im having a cry on his shoulder every other day now and the days im not, im snapping at him or sulking for the littlest thing. Can anyone give me some advice or point me in the right direction? Maybe suggest a book or a website? I feel so bad as I don’t actually have any ‘real’ problems. My job is great, im healthy, ok I have a little bit of debt but who doesn’t? And I don’t worry about that anyway. So why am I like this? Why do I spend every spare minute thinking about things too much or worrying about anything and everything??

I really hope someone can give me some sort of advice because im really at the lowest I have ever been and I don’t know what to do.

Thanks
sloaney

Hello sloany,

the symptoms you describe are typical of depression and anxiety, and you may be surprised to hear that it can be treated without recourse to drugs, and sometimes even without psychotherapy.

Anxiety attacks are caused by excess adrenaline production. This is due to insulin resistance (hypoglycemia) that prevents the proper metabolism of glucose into energy. The brain depends entirely on a proper level of blood sugar level as the source of energy and when this is blocked, the body will produce stress hormones (adrenaline mainly) which cause these terrible symptoms.

The root cause is that you are not handling sugar very well and the hypoglycemic diet, described at our web site will help you to have normal blood sugar, insulin and stress hormone levels. It will also improve your female hormones.

Please go to our web site, and read;

what is hypoglycemia?

and

the hypoglycemic diet

also

beating anxiety

good luck and give it some time to work.
