Rolling Eyes well I am definately no expert but my sister-in-law has had the same problem for years. Her gynecologists tied her tubes and some of the cramping started to come back so he offered to put her on both control pills, but she is over thirty five and a heavy smoker. No he is sending her for blood work and she made need to me on estrogen.

I had the same symptoms, I went to a dr and found that I had fibroids on my ovary, so I had the hysterctomy, being that I am 41 years young, I can happily say, theres no more cramping for me or periods, but I encourage you, please seek a second opion, if the procedure is done corectly, you will be fine
thanks

Extremely eHealthy
I had a total hysterectomy (because of heavy periods & cramping, nothing else) & am not on hrt or anything & am fine.

However I do think you should check whether there's some other cause, problems with your ovary/ies or endometriosis or something else. The last thing you need is major surgery only to find that there's another problem which hasn't been dealt with. You can have a hysterectomy with or without removal of ovaries, so you do need to know what is causing this all of a sudden before taking action.
