Hey guys. Quick question. I'm on ortho tricyclen lo right now but i'm switching to orthocept because I have severe mood swings with otc lo but I was just wondering if I need to use back up when I switch. I'm thinking no, since I won't be going off birth control, just switching brands. But maybe i'm wrong. Help anyone?

Yes, you will need to use a back-up method for at least 7 days after starting the new pack.

The hormones between these 2 pills aren't identical, and you're body will need time to adjust to the new pill.
