I Got Help!!
I was having the constant nausea feeling described here. It was worse after I ate and when I was around large groups of people. I was always eyeing an escape in case I "got sick". A few years ago they were treating the problem as acid reflux desease but non of the medicine helped, they even took out my gull bladder. I finally went to the doctor for social anxiety. They put me on lexapro and what a surprise, no more problems.

Sorry if this thread is too old but I wanted to reply.

I have been suffering these symptoms for ten years now. I've been to doctors and they tell me I'm fine, when obviously I'm not. I wake up 4-5 nights a week nauseous, thinking I'm going to throw up. My best friend in the last six months is Gravol.

When I was younger I used to dry heave quite often and feel nauseous about 2-3 days a week. Now in the last five years it's about 4-5 days a week. There is always some point in the day where I feel nauseous.

Doctors have never helped me (with this or anything else) and I feel like there's nothing I can do other than pop Gravol all the time. Do I have a disease or illness? Anything I can do?

Since this thread is old, I'm not sure if anyone will read it. If anyone knows what I might have could you please e-mail me at [email removed]

Thanks for reading this.

Nausea
I went through similiar issue, intens nausea, anxiet, took loranzapam and it eased simptoms. Now, I am on clonanzapam and it is gone. I know I cant stay on it, but am going to see a psychiatrist soon. Your gastrointestinal system is directly tied to the brain, one of the most sensitive organs in your body, and any anxiety will affect the gut. I now know I have anxiety disorder and know how to treat it. hope this helps someone.

this thread is pretty old but reading this i feel so much less alone. 3 and a half years ago i got M.E but the first symptom of this was exactly this intense nausea and stomach tenderness you are all describing. its been on and off for the past 3 and a half years. At first i was told i was just stressed because i constantly had to hold my throat because i thought i could gag at any moment which i did do at first everytime food went near my mouth. It eased for about a year for some unknown reason but never completely gone. Then in beginning of 2006 it came back with a vengeance. I couldnt eat ATALL, i lost so much weight, down to 6 stone. I had barium swallow (normal) and scans all normal. So finally decided to see a nutrionist, she said i had loads of food intolerances and Candida. So i cut out evberything, ALL sugars etc and lived on the most boring diet. I got better slowly but still not completely. 6 months of being quite well and here i am again. same problem. I am still ont he most boring diet in the world so it cant be that and to be honest i dont want to face the rest of my life having to not eat what i want. Im goin to see a gastroentorlogist in January cos i am (excuse the pun) sick of it.i cant live life like this anymore. i cant go out for meals, i cant even sit at the dinner table with my family and eat incase i feel the need to gag. Its like torture goin to a restaurant. i want to enjoy food again and eat what i want.

I'v had this problem for years! I'm only 13, and it's tiring me out having to go to school with this. Never being able to run, eat, talk its horrible! I feel like I could puke any minute! I read on other forums that it might be anxiety, I just wish it could stop. T-T When I was smaller I had eating issues, that went away for a few years and came back. Today I'm skipping school of it and going to try to see a doctor without gagging the whole time there. PLEASE reply T-T, it's ruining my life, so many other people have it and I'v never seen it been solved!
