Hi everyone.. I understand this is a pregnancy forum, but noone else seems to want to help anywhere else, and I know you girls are all very nice helpful so I came here!!! I'm going through depression at the moment which was caused by birth control pills, so I stopped taking them last weds. I don't feel like i'm getting any better. I don't want to go to school or really do anything, I don't feel excited about things I used to be. This is like killing me coz im known as a very very happy person! I'm on an emotional rollercoaster. One minute i'm like sad, the next im angry for no reason at all! I'm extremely sensitive to what people say to me so i'm like always crying. What makes it worse is that I think about sad things so I get really worked up and worried about what crazy things I might do. I don't know if anyone has had this problem before but I just wanna know how long this is gonna take to get over! By the way.. I suffered from depression before when I was on different brands of bc, but this time it hit me really hard and bad. :( I hope someone can attempt to make me feel a bit better! Thank u!

When did you start the pills? I know girls who went through the same thing when they were first on the pill cuz they partly act on your hormones and make your body feel like you're pregnant, and that emotional roller coaster thing is part of it. I don't know for sure though since i've never been on the pill. Good luck.

Thanks for your response! I started about 3 months ago. But I switched brands every month because I got depressed during the last week of each pack. However when I started this last pack I was depressed the whole time so decided to stop taking them.

You might have entered a period of depression regardles sof whether you are on the pill or not. Talk to your doctor about it.

I did in past months.. But my symptoms went away while I was on the non-active pills so myself (and my doctor) are very sure the pills are causing it.

Ive never heard of bc doing that, are you sure thats the cause? Because I have social anxiety dissorder. And those are some of the symptoms. You actually reminded me of me...Before of course. I still have it, but its under controll. Most of the time, really the only problem I have now is I feel like people are looking at me. Its weird. I get scared to talk or move cause I feel like there watching me...If you wanna talk more, pm me. I know something you can take for that. And you can get it at gnc. :)
