Have you taken a course of anti biotics recently ? Anti biotics are a major cause of yeast infections aswell as pregnancy and other things. Try acidophilus bifidus in tablet form, you can buy them from any drug store without a prescription. They are those live organisms that are in yoghurt but in tablet form there are millions of them. I took them and it cleared up a problem yeast infection that I had for months, it is now completely gone.

Hey nikki,

yeah, my doctor and my mum always told me to eat lots of plain yoghurt when I had a yeast infection because it contains live organisms called acidophilus bifidus that attack all the bad bacteria in your digestive system that cause the yeast infections. The doctor even told me to soak a tampon in yoghurt and insert it. Well I did that every time I got a yeast infection and yeah it worked, but oh my goodness, it really isn't such a nice thing to have to do, not only is the yoghurt on the tampon awful, but plain yoghurt, eeww yuck. So luckily the chemist lady told me you can actually buy the acidophilus bifidus organisms from the yoghurt, in tablet form. Each capsule contains millions of these organisms and they work sweet. I took them for 4 weeks, by the end of the first week, the infection was gone. So goodbye to the days of yoghurt tampons. Lol

Acidolphilus Probiotic
I have a bottle of gelcaps from nature's bounty that say they are probiotic. What is the difference between that and the bifudus? Will the probiotic help a yeast infection? Are there any websites that sell the bifidus acidolphilus?

Couple of questions and a couple of answers: first, have you been to the doctor to make sure that it is a yeast infection? There are other infections that can have the same symptoms. And there are infections that cause yeast infections. Meaning, you can keep getting rid of the yeast infection, but the underlying infection can make it come back again and again. Second, if it is just a yeast infection there are a couple of things that you can do.
Things to not do, or use:
do not use colored or scented toilet paper or tampons
do not wear underwear with colored crotches
do not take baths, only showers

and you can get the prescription pill for yeast infections from your doctor if all else fails. For people who get these infections constantly the doctor will usually give you a couple of pills. That way, when you first start to feel the symptoms you can take the pill and stop it before it starts. I hope this helps.

Not a Yeast Infection
What is funny is that I went to the gyno and told the nurse my problems. She looked at me and instantly said yes, you have an infection. I was inflamed and my cervix was bleeding because it was sensative to the scraping for the pap test.

Well, a few weeks later, I call in for my test results and the nurse I normall have (the one I had I never seen before) and she said there were no bacterial cultures in my tests. I'm free of std's. She says that it could be from sex. I reported lots of vaginal secreations and itchyness. Very similar symptoms of a yeast infection except that the consistancy wasn't cottage cheese like. And the bleeding she said can be from bc pills. She says its not uncommon to be more saseptable to bleeding. Even though it was my first experience likethis.

The first nurse was a freakin fool. She made me think the whole time I did infact have an infection. You have to be careful...Very careful of these health practicianers.
