I was applying for new health insurance but was refuse for an instance that happened a long time ago, but I had still put it on the app.

Is there a limit to the time that items must be disclosed, such as traffic violations etc??

Each carrier is different. Some ask global questions (no time frame) while others are only interested in the last 3 years.

One of the dangers of diy purchasing of insurance products is that you have no idea what a carrier is considering. A good agent will recognize potentially negative issues and match your history with the right carrier.

Most applications do have a gatekeeper question . . . "have you ever been declined or rated" which may cause some snags the next time you apply.

Hopefully not . . .
