Q: Delivery Advice

I'm 36 weeks along now and the doctors say that I can go at any time. I'm really really scared about the pain. I'm going to get drugs to help and i've heard that it's normal to be scared. Does anyone have any advice about labor and delivery? Thanks.

Yes, just be calm and make the best of it. Get the epidural! Its so much easier!!!! I was freaked out about getting it, but once I did I was completely relaxed with no pain! The doc told me the same thing, "any day now" and my water broke-that was sick. And I went in, made jokes and everything. Even when I was pushing and they said to stop, I was like just pull her out already! I dont want to push no more! I dont want to crap on the bed either! Am I peeing?! Lol but its not that bad. Plus I had a boy when I thought it was a girl!

Just dont stress cuz the baby feels it ok!

Don't worry, everyone gets nervous about having a child. I'm 35 wks preg with baby #4, and i'm nervous! The fact that I can't get an epi this time doesn't help, lol. I suggest getting whatever pain medication you can. It is nice to be relaxed while you are having your baby.

Good luck!

Thank you. I remain calm most of the time. I guess it doesn't help that I see women screaming like they are being killed on shows like a baby story and birth day. Speaking of....A baby story is on right now. Lol...

Im at work too.

They scream if they are going natural most likely. But once you have an epi its all easy from there. You just have to push real hard using all your strength about 5-10 times depending on u. I got all shaky from pushing so hard but it was ok, once he was out I got on my cell and called like 10 people to say "i just had my baby! Its a boy!" lol

oh its such a crazy feeling too, you feel the head like stretching you so wide and its like stuck so it hurts a bit, then when the body comes out it feels all wiggly and weird lol

Yeah - get the epidural! And ask for it about 30 minutes before you think you'll need it. They have to pump you full of fluids through your iv and it takes awhile!

Well actually with me I was already hooked up to the iv, then when they induced me they put it in the iv so my contractions were hard and hurting. Then I asked for the epidural and he came in and did it. It took like 5-10 minutes for it to completely numb me.

Its not that bad, but very well worth it
