Spotting.. Am I Pregnant? Posted: 01-05-05 19:53pm
I have been on the pill for about a year
now. My boyfriend and I usually have
protected sex just to give that chance of
being pregnant never happen. Though, last
month, we didn't use that condom.
I tend to take the pill around the same
time of the day, sometimes a couple hours
later or earlier. After the incident, my
period came late. Well, I can't even say
it's a period. I was spotting brown
throughout the whole time I should've
bled. Since then, I took a test about a
week later, it came back negative. So we
were relieved.
But..
I missed a day on my pill after that, and
we had unprotected sex again a few days
after the missed pill. Though he pulled
out, i'm still worried. My "period"
started right on time this time.. But..
Still no blood!
Should I be worried? What could be
wrong?
Please help!

I posted a response to this in the teen
forum...
It very well could be your body flushing
out the excess tissue etc... In other
words, cleansing itself naturally...
Or it could be implantation bleeding which
can occur up to about two weeks after
conception.
Take a test when your next period is due
to be sure.

Even being on the pill for a year,
spotting can occur. The pill is about
98-99% effective ONLY if you take it at
the same time each day. Pulling out is
also not an effective method of birth
control. Pre-ejaculation can still get you
pregnant just as much as if he orgasmed
inside of you. Be careful from now on, and
good luck.
