Hello Ciara
I got some information for you. But I am not a doctor, and the information I have comes from a website, and should not be considered medical advice.

Benzaclin is a topical treatment (it's a cream applied to the skin) not to be taken orally.

benzaclin

information from:
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/top ical :

special information if you are pregnant or breastfeeding

if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, inform your doctor immediately. The possibility that benzaclin could harm the developing baby has not been ruled out.

Clindamycin can make its way into breast milk, where it could harm a nursing infant. You'll need to choose between nursing your baby and continuing your treatment with benzaclin.

Information from benzaclin website:

there are no well-controlled trails in pregnant woman treated with benzaclin topical gel. It also is not known whether benzaclin topical gel can cause fetal harm when administered to a pregnant woman.

nursing women: it is not known whether benzaclin topical gel is excreted in human milk after topical application.

*in my opinion, after reading this material, I would suggest that she stop treatment with benzaclin immediately, and discuss other options with her doctor.*

as for erythromycin

information from:
druginfo.net

there are, however, no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women.

This drug should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Erythromycin has been reported to cross the placental barrier in humans, but fetal plasma levels are generally low.

The effect of erythromycin on labor and delivery is unknown

erythromycin is excreted in breast milk, therefore, caution should be exercised when erythromycin is administered to a nursing woman

*so, in my opinion, for both of these medications, I would suggest that your friend stop treatment, and talk to a doctor. (she will need to see a doctor anyway because she is pregnancy!!!) :d *

i hope this information was helpful

p.S. In the future, if you want to look something up, go to a search engine, like lycos.Com, and type in what you are looking for. It's a lot easier than depending on other people to hopefully find what you are looking for!
