I have recently been approved by my insurance company for gastric bypass surgery, I have found a wonderful surgeon, I have tons of support from both family and friends....And the only thing that is holding me back now is the fact that I have ms. I am 24 years old and I have been living with ms for 3 years and I have yet to find anyone else with ms who has gotten this surgery. I am afraid of moving forward with the surgery and having complications later down the road because of my ms. If you or anyone you know has ms and has gotten this surgery or is even considering this surgery, please contact me!
Thanks!

I had Nissen Fund... surgery in Jan 09. They wrapped my stomach around my eshogust. I am just now diagnoised with M.S., which means I had it when I had the surgery. Also, had my Gallbladder out. I had a lot of exhaustion, but that could have been the ms and I didn't know. I don't regreat the surgury. I lost thirty pounds with in a few months. I felt great until I had a stroke like event in August which is now diagnoised as M.S. Was this surgury more taxing then surgeries in the past - yes - but I was back at work within four weeks. God Bless

I also had gastric bypass october 2008. I have lost 117 pounds!! I was just diognosed with MS last week. I think getting the weight off is going to be a big help. Im only 23 and I am the youngest person my doctor has diognosed with MS. So now I have to decide what my treatment options are going to be and how im going to live my life to the fullest.
