I've had cellulitis 5 times in the last 9 months. Twice it was severe enough to require iv antibiotics. I've gone through the hygiene checklist & i'm doing everything possible to avoid infection. I don't think it's something in my environment because the first infection happened while I was house sitting, the next two at my house, and the last two since i've moved t a new house. I was given a nasal cavity test to see if i'm a staph carrier, and it came back negative. I have lupus and the skin lesions that occur with that are the reason I have broken skin in the first place, but beyond that, I don't know why I can't fight off these infections. I'm not on any drugs that supress my immune system. I've posted to the lupus site, but no one so far has this same problem w/ the lesions becoming infected w/ staph. Does anyone have any suggestions? My Dr. Is just as baffled as I am.
