Looking Forward to Marriage
Posted: 01-02-05 00:21am

Hello

i have been going out with my boyfriend for almost 4 months now, but we've known each other for 3..

And I *really* liked him from the moment I met him, if I had known what love was than I might have even loved him at first sight

and recently we've been talking about marriage, children, buying a house...

Its really weird for me since until we got together I was quite different... Didnt have any plans about wanting children or getting married, but while we've been together i've really grown into myself and have now realized that I want to be married and have children by the time I am 30 (i'm almost 20 now)

am I just infactuated with him? Or is it real? I really want it to be real but can you have such strong feelings for each other after only 4 months?

I had the same feelings as you. I am sorry but I don't think it is real. Wait a while and get to know him a little better then you can make a good desicion. My ex and I had made plans like that and they turned out horrible. I am now 14 weeks pregnant and he left me and is now doing someone else. Just be careful about what you are getting yourself into.

Lilgoth - i'm glad you're asking these questions now. Yes, it's infatuation.. But that's not a bad thing. It's normal and healthy.

Give it time and don't get ahead of yourself. If you're going to have children, then by all means... But not something to put on the table until you've been together longer, with a stable relationship (preferably marriage), and both financially stable.

Sftbllchika - i'm sorry to hear that... I find it annoying how many guys are like that. I've dated a number of girls that are in, or were in your position. Lots of single moms out there, and a lot of them are awesome girls too... Just don't get taken seriously in the dating scene once a child is involved. Some guys get scared, and run away. Good luck to you..

Justin
