My 19 month old nephew has been admitted to the hospital with an elevated temperature (101), swelling in his neck, a high white blood cell count (35) and elevated ldh levels (700). While the mono spot test came back negative, the doctor indicated that such did not conclusively rule out mono. Question -- is a 700 ldh consistent/inconsistent with mono? Thanks in advance...(the joy of a hospital being understaffed over a holiday weekend...)
