:( I have had gastroenteritis flu-like symptoms for a month. The doctor did an ebv test and he said my igg & igm values were off the chart, so he diagnosed me with infectious mononucleosis. The probem, however, is that my symptoms are very atypical. I have had three major symtoms since november: nausea, bad or bitter taste in my mouth, constant headache. My throat has been fine and no swollen glands. I did have fever at the start. Thiis sounds very different from symptoms that I have read about on the internet. Has anyone heard of these symptoms associated with mono.

Have a great day :d

Mononucleosis And Gastro
Yes - I have mono and gastro symptoms right now. My doctor said that he also just saw another patient recently who had abdominal pain and all they could find was mono. But to be sure we are testing for other possible causes, but have yet to find anything.

There are some sites that list gastro symptoms and there are research studies where people with mono have exhibited gastro symptoms. But I would recommend working with an infectious disease doctor and possibly even a gastro.
