Q: Side Effects

I have been on birth control for about a month now and have been experiencing some side effects that i'm not sure if they are related. I have been getting terrible cramps where I double over in pain, and I never had problems with cramps before the pills. I have also been hot all the time. When everyone else is wearing sweatshirts, I am wearing a t-shirt and this is not normal for me. The strangest is I have had puffy eyes every day for the past 2 or 3 weeks. It doesn't matter how much sleep I get or what products I use on my eyes. Has any one else experienced these symptoms or can you tell me anything about them?

Hey
Sounds like you could use some help! I just recently started the pill as well, and I have had terrible headaches... They some now and then still, but thank goodness they arent a constant pain! I have been needing a lot of sleep too, and all I can do, and you too, is sleep! You need your rest because you starting taking new hormones and your body is working in over time to adjust to them... Of course its hard on us! The puffy eyes, and the cramps I havent experienced. Every woman is different when she starts the pill... Side effects very. But for the time being stick it out, and let your body adjust. Give it another week or two and then go to the doc, there might be a better pill out there for you.

What Do I Do?
Hi, I am a teen and about a year ago I got the birth control shot. After the shot started to wear off I have been having a thick discharge with a unique smell. Please respond back with some solutions to my problem

It's Probably Not the Shot!
Most likely if you have a heavy discharge and it smells you might have a yeast infection. You can go to the doctors, or you can go and get an over the counter method. Monistat 7 works good. You shouldn't let it go on for a while. You could try a yeast infection medication and if doesnt go away then you should have it checked out, because you will know it's not that. Have you had any pain or itching down there, because that would definately be an infection. Hope that everything works out. :d

You are experiencing these side effects because of the new hormones being introduced into your body. Puffy eyes are probably from bloating. Give it the three months if you can wait it out and if these things are still bothering you, ask the doctor to give you a different kind of pill. To the girl with the discharge problem, it could also be a bacterial infection, so you may want to get that checked out before it causes any damage.
