Q: Prolonged Period On the Pill

I recently started the pill(ortho tricyclen-lo) about a week and a half ago. I happened to start it while I was on my period and my period hasnt stopped. It has lasted for about 2 weeks now and is very very light but still continuing. My doctor told me that I just need time to let my body adjust to the pills but how long will that take? I've heard it can take as long as 3 months for your body to adjust. Can I really have my period for that long?
Please help.

Re: Prolonged Period On the Pill
Hmm I doubt you would have your period for 3 months.. But your doctor probably meant that your body has to get used to it in other ways - like getting over side effects (if you get them, not everyone does) like nausea and headaches etc.! Hope this helps :)

Prolonged Menstrual
I have started a new pill also (Yasmmin) I took my first pill on the first day of my period - which was Sunday 6th September...it hasn't stopped yet - today being the 9th October. Every time I try to see a Doctor I can't get an appointment for 2 weeks or so and I keep thinking it will have stopped by then...I should really make an appoinment...
