What do they usually ask you at the hospital about the father? And if I do put my baby's daddy's name on the birth certificate - what are they gonna ask? Are they gonna ask his age?

Well heres the problem. He's 18. I'm 14. I dont want him going to jail or anything if I put his age on the birth certificate. So I dont know what to do :(

the only thing is, I think in california they will press charges anyway, even if you don't file anything. But i'm not so sure about that.

" the victim is at least 13 but less than 16 years old and the actor is at least four years older than the victim." -- new jersey law.

He was 17 when he got me pregnanct though. So I know we could somehow work our way around that. Our parents are fine with it and everything. But I just don't wanna risk anything.

I've seen my birth certificate and it has both my mother's and father's age at the time I was born. So..I am pretty sure they will put it on there.

My birth certificate doesn't exactly have my mom's and dad's age on it but it's got their birth dates so you just have to do the math.

Im not sure about the laws in california, so you will have to really check into that...

I do know however, that the reason those of you are married didnt have to have the father sign is because... You are married.

If you arent married, they have the father sign as an acknowledgement of paternity... If the father does not sign the birth certificate as well as another form acknowledging paternity, then it can be done later, but it will cost money... If you are married, this paternity is assumed unless you inform them otherwise (ie your husband is not the father)

seeing as he impregnated you when he was 17, it should not be an issue, just like when a minor (under 18) commits a crime, they are tried as juveniles, even if they dont get caught until they are 18...
