Re: Hypothyroid And Graves
I was diagnosed with hypothyroid about 2 years ago. I recently had to get a different doctor to keep track of my situation since the first one left the practice. When I asked the new doctor what would cause my hypothyroid, he told me it was due to me having grave's disease. The first doctor never mentioned grave's disease once. I don't know if she had some reason to put that in my chart but didn't mention it to me, or if this new doctor just came up with grave's on the fly solely from the fact that I am hypothyroid. Everything I have read says that grave's disease is hyperthyroid, so now i'm confused. When I called the doctor back and said that everything I read says grave's is hyper, I basically was told that the grave's diagnosis is accurate, and to search harder. I'm going to see a gyn tomorrow and will run all of this by her. I'm very frustrated by all of the conflicting info from the doctor, and might try to find a specialist who deals with thyroid.
