I started taking paxil probably 10 months ago for anxiety & depression. I have been on other medications in the past (prozac, zoloft, etc..)so I am pretty familiar with them.
But I have gained 20 pounds since may, for the last month I have started breaking out with acne, i'm tired all the time, I have no energy, I feel nauseous a lot, I feel dizzy sometimes, and I have no ambition. Any ideas on what all these symptoms could be??

The same thing actually happened to me. The symptoms don't sound as bad as yours, but it did start to happen right around 10 months. I felt tired all the time, was taking several naps during the day, had no ambition, etc. I told me doctor this and he gave me zoloft which was a mistake because it made me suicidal and crazy. After I got off the medication totally I felt awesome. My I felt like I was "fixed" and that I had my life back. But in the past few weeks i've been getting the problems back again. Guess it's just a constant battle, so hang in there. I'd stop taking the paxil if I were you.

the answer for me was cognitive behavioral therapy (cbt). I was on meds for many years before I found cbt and it cured me and got me off meds in a remarkably short period of time. Best of all once you learn the tools in cbt you have them forever so you are able to give yourself relief almost instantly whenever you are feeling stressed, anxious or down. It's all about using the tools to learn to think more clearly and accurately about things and once you do your anxiety, panic and depression will miraculously begin to lift before your eyes. My favorite starter book on cbt is "been there, done that? Do this! By sam obitz - like anything in life the more you put in the more you get out of cbt.

Take care!

You may want to try another drug. I was on paxil first and it made me miserable. I hated it. When I went off of it I was fine for about eight months and then it came back. My doctor told me that usually happens, because the drug has a lasting, but not permanent effect, and when it loses its effect, you feel like you got hit by a train. To the person who replied and said this is happening to them: do not wait until it gets worse, talk to your doctor now, please! There are many different drugs you can take for anxiety, depression and ocd, so tell the doctor to switch you. Hope you feel better!

Extremely eHealthy
Sometimes medications (man made substances) can be the worst thing & sometimes there are some totally natural ways to help if not actually overcome.

Tryptophan (found in tonnes of things - pumpkin seeds, most nuts, plain yoghurt, turkey, etc etc) balances the serotonin levels in our brains & so reduces stress/anxiety. Another thing to rty is a gentle walk between 6 & 7 am for 30 minutes at which time (even in bad weather) something in the suns rays works to reduce stress related chemicals in our brain.

I have tried all the other stuff & this has worked best for both myself (4Cool& my daughter (15).
