Until (Page 1)

Someone can come up with a good excuse (except extreme cases ie..Mother's health or child's health at risk) for abortion there is no way to convince me (or other pro-lifers, i'm sure) that it is a good practice.

I'm so sick of excuses like "it would have ruined my future"--well you shouldn't have put yourself in that position anyway.

"the father didnt' want the baby"--why sleep with someone like that anyway?

"it just wasn't the right time"--again, you shouldn't have put yourself in that postion.

I mean how simple is it! If you aren't ready to be pregnant then you aren't ready to have sex...I don't care if you are married or not. Educate yourself and then procede to have sex. Take care of your responsibilities don't run from them.

There is no valid excuse nor will there ever be one.

Abortions are selfish and cowardly acts commited against the unborn. And I know some of you will say "blah, blah, blah, prolife people are so selfish. Well you are the one's screaming my body, my fetus, my choice" so it seems to me that you are the one's being selfish. "mine mine mine" I swear you all sound like 3 year olds.

A fetus has a heartbeat right? Well taking away a heartbeat is killing! Killing is wrong and is murder. Please, please, please I beg you all to tell me how killing is ever a good thing?

It just aggrivates me to no end to here people talk about it like it's a good thing.

And I am not being scientific--i am speaking about morals and ethics. Things that you pro-choice people seem not to talk about.

so what if it's selfish? There are tons of things that we do and that you do that are selfish.. And don't tell me you haven't ever thought about only you and you werent' selfish because there had to be a time you passed by a hitchhiker on the street, or someone who was having car troubles, and when's the last time you donated to the christian childrens fund and how many children have you adopted or fostered? Have you ever donated to a charity? If you love children so much, why don't you care about the ones who are already born and need to be adopted and spend less time on the internet and more time feeding little childrens hungry mouths.

i don't care about your morals.. You can follow that set of morals all you want, but it stops at my body. I don't care what you believe.. Just don't inflict those beliefs on me or anybody else. I won't follow morals that I don't believe in as long as me not following them does not inflict harm on someone else and there is no one else affected in abortion besides me.

tell me.. Are you a vegetarian perchance and do you happen to wear fur? Animals have a heartbeat too.

I used to think that way.... But I came to realize, that instead of some unwanted child being born and later being in foster care and getting a good home, I could have gotten that good home!

First off, I don't pick up hitchikers because I am concerned for the safety of my child as well as my own safety. And for your information I have called our states *77 cellular number to alert the state police of broken down vehichles.

As far as charaties that I donate too--well let's see. I donate to the salvation army, world wildlife fund, ronald mcdonald house, our local ladies auxillary (which does lots of work for children) and also this christmas I bought toys and clothes for 7 underprivalaged children. I donate all my old clothing and my sons to our local mission...They then turn around a give them to people that need them.

As for how I feel on animal rights--i eat no meat, I wear no animal fur (not even leather) nor do I believe in sport hunting. No leather shoes, belts, wallets, purses. My fiance is a vegetarian and when my son is old enough to decide whether he wants to eat meat or not then I will support his decision to do so. I do not buy any health care products unless they have the notice "not tested on animals" on them. I also donate money and time to our local spca and the humane society.

Oh and fyi--i don't believe in the death penalty either. I believe that only the higher powers have the right to stop any beating heart!

So.....I answered your questions...Why can't you answer mine?

Well it's good to see that you are consistent! I'm just saying that many people who say abortion is selfish.. Do selfish things everyday. As far as killing being a good thing.. It can be on one hand and not in the other.. It all depends.. I believe in killing if the thing that is being killed is suffering.. Or will definatly suffer. As far as pregnancy and sex goes.. That's just lame.. You could say "if you're not ready to die, than your not ready to drive" or "you knew smoking could cause lung cancer so stop your chemo and deal with the consequences" it's completly bogus.

One more thing.. Why is it so hard to understand why woman should have a say over whether or not something inhabits their body? If you had an alien inside you or some other being that you didn't want there making you sick.. And you didn't feel like that being was worth protecting.. How would you feel if when you wanted to have it removed someone came to you and said "you're not allowed to kill it.. It's a living being, it has a heartbeat and it can feel pain.. You must continue to incubate it inside your body no matter how sick it makes you until it is time for it to come out"

and we don't care. You have the right to your opinions, and as long as it is legal, no sweat.
Quote:
i'm so sick of excuses like "it would have ruined my future"--well you shouldn't have put yourself in that position anyway.
ah, the moralistic hatemongering, the uncompassionate view of pregnancy as punishment for the woman to not live up to your sick and twisted amorality. Yes, no surprise there.
Quote:
"the father didnt' want the baby"--why sleep with someone like that anyway?
ah, now punish her for her "stupidity"? Yes, if she is so stupid, what makes you believe she will be a good mother?
Quote:
"it just wasn't the right time"--again, you shouldn't have put yourself in that postion.
and again, you are nothing but a hatemongering misogynist.
Quote:
i mean how simple is it! If you aren't ready to be pregnant then you aren't ready to have sex...
that may be the case for you, but not for most people, which is why there is a market for contraception. But hey, feel free to go and tell married couples not to have sex if they don't want to be parents again. Nice touch there, marking you as an extremist.
Quote:
i don't care if you are married or not. Educate yourself and then procede to have sex. Take care of your responsibilities don't run from them.
and one way to do so is through an abortion, if an unwanted pregnancy occurs,
Quote:
there is no valid excuse nor will there ever be one.
ah, look. An absolutist "because I say so" anti-choice postulation. Gee, we have never seen those before. How lame.
Quote:
abortions are selfish and cowardly acts commited against the unborn.
yadda, yadda yadda. "pro-lifers are hatemongering misogynists who are willing to enslave women just because they themselves selfishly want others to live by their pathetic and punitive amoral beliefs." see, we can do the name calling as well, silly. If that is why you post here, we can certainly abide and fight. Doesn't do much for your credibility, though.
Quote:

hey, you are the one with the narcissistic tantrum worthy of the 3 yo. Amazing how pro-lifers are always ready to ascribe the duty to *others* to be selfless. Nice touch, there. Further demonstration of the pro-life misogynistic idea of the woman as having the duty to sacrifice herself. You forgot to mention where other people have the duty to be forced to give of their organs to keep other people alive. After all, it is selfish to not give your extra kidney to somebody who needs it to live, right? I am sure you are filled with moral outrage against all those who have not given a kidney yet, aren't you?

By the way, when did you donate your extra kidney? Because you are not so much a hypocrite that you want to impose duties onto others that you have no intention of living up to yourself, would you?

Nah, pro-lifers are never that hypocritical, are they?
Quote:
a fetus has a heartbeat right?
so did the cow that you had in your burger earlier. So you are also a vegetarian, then. (again, because otherwise you would be again a hypocrite, talking about heart beats while eating what has heart beats.)
Quote:
well taking away a heartbeat is killing!
so is eating a burger or a carrot, not to mention how many bacteria you kill when you wash your hands. Are there any more irrelevant and stupid arguments you can come up with?
Quote:
killing is wrong and is not a nice act. Please, please, please I beg you all to tell me how killing is ever a good thing?
well, I just went and killed a whole lot of life so I could have lunch. Presumably, you never eat at all, because that involves killing. Or are you a hypocrite?
Quote:
it just aggrivates me to no end to here people talk about it like it's a good thing.
of course it does, oh you killer of life.
Quote:

<snort> yes, that much is certain.

except that your amoral "morals and ethics" involves slavery of pregnant women, something that all civilized people have agreed is immoral. Nice going with the hypocrisy and narcissism there.

Oh "dr" (ha ha) steen. I am just the big bad hater of all womankind because I believe that abortion is immoral. Oh how great you must feel to be so smart.

Slavery of pregnant women? Where do you come up with this crap. If your idea of enslaving someone is to make them own up to their responsibilities instead of running from them...Then yeah I guess that's what i'm talking about then.

Please tell me doc, that you weren't implying that a carrot had a heartbeat...Seems like someone should go back to med school eh?

And no i've not given my extra kidney although I have signed up as an organ donor and I also donate blood..I feel like i'm doing my part...How about you? What can you say you have done?

And just in case you didn't read the earlier post...I don't eat meat..Haven't since I was 8 years old...So the burger that I had for lunch, didn't exist.

Oh and fyi--your name calling and finger pointing has no affect on me what-so-ever so do it all you like.

You talking to me=you wasting your time.

yup, just another chickenshit pro-lifer to scared to actually debate the issues because all you have is fervor and beliefs, but no facts or reality to back it up. No suprise there.
Quote:
slavery of pregnant women? Where do you come up with this crap.
yes, we already know that anti-choicers have no problem stopping women from upholding their constitutional rights to control their own bodies and don't see forced provision of bodily resources as slavery. As I said, pure misogybi, seeing women as second-class citizens just because they are pregnant.
Quote:

amazing how you skipped so many of my points, notably on where your claims were false. As for being vegetarian, are you saying that a carrot can't be killed (and that aside, I must have missed where you are aggitating for cattle, protesting their killing.)
Quote:
you talking to me=you wasting your time.
well, that is clear, as you seem to have no regard for reality.

Please explain the points that I skipped doc...And please explain what claims I made were false?

The reason I don't protest the killing of animals on this forum is because that's not what it's here for...This is abortion debate...Not animal rights debate. And i'm not the one who brought up animal rights to begin with. Bd did that earlier.

And as far as reality goes. You just get all whiny when someone doesn't bow to your idea of reality. In your reality there is no regard for human life or compassion towards the unborn so as far as that goes, i'm pretty comfortable in my reality.

Yet again you have failed to show me how killing is the way to go.

you skipped the issue of your demand for women to be selfless and eb assigned roles by you.

You skipped when you gave up your bodily resources for another life, such as donating a kidney.

You skipped the challenge to your hatemongering.

You skipped the challenge to your portrayal of the woman as stupid, while ignoring your demand that this "stupid" woman also be a good mom.

You skipped the challenge to your claim of sex being only for procreation, per the availability of contraception and the necessary demand of your claim for married couples to only have sex when they actually want children.

You skipped the challenge to your lie about abortion.

You skipped the challenge to your simplistic idea that all "killing" is bad, ignoring that you kill when you eat, showing you as a hypocrite.

You ignored the challenge to your self-proclaimed "morals and ethics."

You still have failed to show me that I skipped anything. You need to go back and read my post. Did I did I not mention the donating of organs or fluids? Hm. Seems like you need to learn to read.

The issue of the demand for women to be selfless--i believe I did address this. You just seem to read what suits you.

As for the hatemongering--i have no need to answer when you insult me.

Whether a "stupid" woman would make a good mother or not there are plenty of people out there who would. She doesn't have to kill the child she could place it with someone who could love it.

As far as the sex only for procreation--i still say that if you are old enough to do it then at least be mature enough to handle the consequences and if you can't then don't do it. I mean seriously how many times does it have to be said.

Oh--so eating carrots, broccoli and other plants can be compared to killing a creature with a beating heart? Once again doc--it must be great to be so smart.

I never ignored morals or ethics...How is it moral to kill a living creature? It's wrong. If you are such a christian then can't you see it as a sin? You have no compassion for human life. Your idea is to just make it go away and that sir is wrong!

So thank you for trying to "challenge" me...But I can clearly see that you failed.

So I lie huh? Please by all means tell me where I am lying.

And why can't you answer simple questions without insults? Instead of answering a question you go on a rant about your beliefs and ideas.

If your only way to feel important is to attack and insult people then go right ahead. It just shows how badly you need attention.

Opinions are never lies...Opinions are just that *opinions*. If such an educated *dr* can't see that then I feel truly sorry for you.

You are not the only one that feels stongly about things and to think that your way is the only right way is very *self-righous* and *stupid* (and by all means I am in no way calling you stupid)

to call me a misogynist because I don't believe in abortion is just ignorance and since I am on the subject----to believe in the killing of humankind I guess you would be misanthropic...Right?

more stupid nonsense. I find you lie and I call you on it. That you don't like it... Well, tough dodo. If you don't like it, simply stop lying. But as long as you lie, I will keep on calling you on those lies, lame loser.
