Q: Couple of Questions...

First question... Is it possible for me to transmit a std (in this case bacterial vaginosis) from one woman to another without actually getting it myself? My ex-girlfriend was diagnosed with bv but I came up clean.

Also, if you have oral sex or intercourse with someone once that has an std will you always 'catch' what they have or could it take a couple of times. Thanks.

Bv is not really a sexually transmitted disease, but it can be caused from sex (i.E. Sex w/out condoms, bad reaction to sperm, etc) or from a lot of different things. So you probably did not give your ex bv and it is doubtful you could transmit it to someone new.

If you have had sex with someone who has an std, you might have gotten lucky and not contracted it. Since you are a male, you probably would see symptoms but some don't, so if you are worried you should just get tested and find out. You'll feel a lot better if you know for sure and most stds are cureable with antibiotics.

Hope everything works out!

There are times that std's will not show up on a blood test for a few months. Use condoms.
Good luck!

And actually males are usually the ones who get no symptoms of most std's. It is women who get symptoms of most std's.
Bv can be transmitted from you to a girl, but it is very uncommon. And it isn't an std, it is a bacterial infection. But, let's say you had sex with a girl who had bv and then had sex with another girl, you could give it to that girl, but it could wash right off of you. Since males usually (almost always) do not carry bacterial vaginosis.
But, it is a very common infection and your girlfriend could have just gotten from various other things (which is most probable).

And some std's can be cured with antibiotics, but not most and certainly not all. Actually, only a couple can be cured. But it is always best to get them cured asap so complications do not occur.
