4 years ago I have had an extra marital affair that lasted 8 months. Of course sex was involved but all of those acts were protected. 2 years later I had some sex with some 3 women over some period of time and were protected as well.

5 days ago I had a fever and went to the doctor. She prescribed several flu tablets and some strong antibiotics. Then 2 days later, I was fine but perhaps a little groggy after the medication. Suddenly I had this crazy feeling I am infected with hiv. I lost sleep thinking of it.

Today, I went to the doctor again and explained my fears. I asked for an hiv test and she took some sample of my blood to be sent to a lab to be tested. Usually it takes only one day to know the result. But since it's christmas eve, and tomorrow is christmas, after that it's a sunda, the result will come on monday.

Is there any chance for me to get infected with hiv?

So far after those sexual epsiodes, I did not develope any tell-tale symptoms as mentioned in some documents i've read. Nothing whatsoever. But the thing is I can't rest in peace. My mind is so filled with this fear.

If you used protection I think that you should be fine. Its just the days waiting for the test to come in that get you all worked up. I hope you're fine!

of Course.
Condoms are not 100% effective. But your odds, if used proprely, are very slim! ! ! There is a risk with oral sex as well. Most people are unaware of this, but trust me, there is a risk. Go to: Thebody.Com
i got my fingers crossed for you

Fyi About Condoms. . . .
I get tested for hiv regularly because I am paranoid freak. I just changed over to kaiser as my hmo, and had to sit with an hiv counselor for the first time today. She told me that using latex condoms is the only way to reduce the chance of getting hiv. I have been using latex free condoms for quite a while now and had not idea it was only reducing my risk of pregnancy. It's like i've been having unprotected sex!!

I had two condoms break recently and am really scared about test results for the first time. Wish me luck.

Just a little heads up for you.
