Lildreamer - I dont know about all the other people but up here in nova scotia people under 16 can't get married, people between 16-18 have to have their parents permission and they have to go through a whole bunch of legal stuff. But thats canada I dont know about the states. Myself im 19 and dont have to worry about that ... Although getting married at 19 is looked down upon I dont care i've been with scott since I was 15 and now im having his children. Anywho dont know about the rest ~melissa

I didnt have to worry because I was old enough but he did get me an engagement ring, a real pretty one. He proposed, we told the family and stuff. It was nice. But for young ones, they need to have parental consent and the parents need to sign for it, then by court order you have to get pre-marital counceling.

hey, havent really talked to you before, but ive got a question...And be honest....You said you got married at 17 and ur hubby was 23...Being thats about a 6 year difference, how did u think it was going to work out? Would u advise girls for or against dating older guys, or does it not matter....Reason for asking is im 16(im sure many girls say this, but ive been through so much in my life and am so much more mature then most 16 yr old girls) and im not looking for those 1 week relationships and games anymore, im past that stage...I just got out of an abusive relationship about 9 months ago, and am still recovering, but am ready to move on...A good friend of mine(shes 1 told me that there is this really awesome guy who she wants to hook me up with...She told me im def. His type and she knows im still a virgin...So she knows I dont go around sleeping with every guy...Thing is, hes 21....Im totally ready for it emotionally, but am a little scared about the physical part...Now I know getting involved with an older guy the physical relationship has to be more advanced than most, and I think im ready for it...I mean I havent even met the guy yet but if things were to go the way I hope they do, I think im ready for it.....Im thinking about this seriously and long and hard before I make any drastic decisions...Id really appreciate yours and anybody elses advice on this....

And just to let everybody know, I understand what comes along with an older guy relationship and have taken that into consideration...Im ready to go to the next level in my life....I just want some pointers from girls who have been there before...Some do's and dont's ya know...Because I think im definitely going to go with it...I mean, whats there to lose?

For myself, this relationship seemed to be the best, and I knew it would work out (all 16 yr olds know everything, lol). Anyway, i'm glad that I ended up with mike, because I feel I would have gone down the wrong road. I was about to turn to drugs & alcohol, instead I had a family. If you feel your mature and you and this guy hit it off...Go for it!


(in caps) but, be sure that your ready for the concequences of being with an older guy, they do want more than your classmates...Not that they don't want the same thing too. As I said I was engaged 2 mos. Into our relationship, cuz this is something he was ready for, and not necessarily me (i just didn't want to lose him). As in my other posts, have sex when you are ready, we don't want another "unwanted" baby and you having to chose the hardest thing in your life.

For me i'm lucky things turned out as they did, cuz for most of my "pregnancy class" the guys turned and walked away (young and old).

Girl! You sound so much like me! I have been used., played, lied to, everything in the book. I was tired of it... I'm 17, in university. I am a smart girl, and I know how to make other girls jealous. I couldn't understand why I couldn't keep a full time boyfriend. Guys judged by my looks and ass (you know how it is) and I was still a virgin too... And I finally figured it out. I was out of every guy's league. Age makes no difference... Unless it's like... 13 and 33... You get my idea. As long as you and him are on the same level, then what the hell right? I know this may sound so weird to everyone, but i'm going to tell you all my story. I met matt online. I didnt think anything of it, and then the woman (like my second mom) told me I had to meet him. He is a lobsterman on the coast of maine. 3 hours away from my home town... He's living on his own, nice vehicles, not to mention a brand new chevy silverado... He is a self employed lobsterman, owns a boat, 800 traps... Now if anyone knows someone with this kind of work, they know they are hard working and well respected. Not to mention his father wasnt a lobsterman. He comes from a very well off family... Mature, smart, and this guy loves me. We have been together for over 2 months. Now I am in university, we are only 2 hours apart! Who do you think comes and gets me every weekend and brings me back? Yes he does... He is ready to start his life. He has been with a few girls, and I thought I didn't know what I was doing either, but he reassures me everything is wonderful and my "performance" is wonderful. My way of thinking... He loves you, then he loves you. Nothing is going to change that as long as he is sincere and he has good intentions. My guy wants to marry me already and I know its true. We had a scare a couple weeks ago, and he was calm and supportive and he said that this was a little early, but he was still staying with me no matter the turn out. He had to take care of me and the baby... Turns out that I wasnt pregnant... The awesome thing is, deep down inside, I know that he wanted a baby. Even if he/ she was going to be a little soon... So my advice to all you girls and ladys, whatever happens, happens because thats the way it was suppose to. Live for the day, and dont let set backs hold you back. Find love, and hold onto it... As I sit here, i'm almost in tears. I dont know what I would do if I didnt have matt. Its the greatest feeling in the world. So crombie,. Go on a date with this guy, dont let fear stop you. If your friend is a friend shes not setting you up for a kill. Keep us updated.

You girls are amazing, thank you for not judging me and talking down to me as if I was a 10 year old....I feel the same way about age being just a number...As long as its not 15 and 35 ya know? I still have my worries and hesitations, but who doesnt? i'm 19 and been happily married to my 20 year old husband for two wonderful years....Yes I got married at 17...My parents had to be present when we got married...I couldn't get married in the court chapel because both my birth mother and father had to be present...And since my father past away....I couldn't which sucked....When we was engaged I didn't have a ring. We didn't have the money for it, but we do have wedding bands....Awww I love my honey

So its basically parent consent huh! Who lives with the bf/hubby or do they life w/you? Who got engaged/married and is not expecting or have kids? How did it feel like being a teen wife? Did you cook, clean, do laundry? If I was a teen bride I wouldnt know how to take on wife roles becuase I can barely take care of myself.Lol! Right now I don't live with my hubby b/c he is out at sea .....Well my hubby proposed to me before we know we were pregnant. I love been a teen wife. Yes I cook, clean, do laundry....And it all started when I married my hun....Lol....Me and mike didn't even how to drive at first but we taught each other....Watch out world crazy driver on the roads .....I can drive very well....Lol

i stay with my hunny on weekends since i'm still in school. He still goes to work on saturday so I have all morning and a couple hours in the afternoon to clean his house, vacuum, do the laundry, and week old dishes! Lol* that was how I was brought up, and its so cute when we take turns cooking and going grocery shopping (together). I truely dont mind cleaning, because he goes out of his way for me. Literally. All we can do is give our husbands/ bf (for me) what they deserve. They deserve a lot if they are not lying, cheating no namers right? I am transfering schools in april, so I will be moving in with matt. I think he wants me to transfer over christmas but that would be so complicated. It's university, not high school! I can't wait to get married like you girls, although I am very happy how things are right now, but a person can never be too complete, right?
