Though anxiety can cause chest pain and discomfort, I would definately get checked out. Just go to the doctor and tell him or her everything you're feeling plus that you have high blood pressure and whatnot.

But don't get too worried because anxiety really does cause these things, I live through them everyday so if it's that then you will too.

You should get it checked out, but it sounds like the same thing I experienced.

Anxiety symptoms can cause a viscous cycle. You get chest pains because you're anxious, and then you get more anxious because you have chest pains. I tried antidepressants, and they helped, but I hated the side effects. Once I stopped the drugs, just knowing that it was only anxiety and nothing worse helped the pains go away. Keep taking those deep breaths!

Dear doodle,
it sounds like you need to see a doctor (just to make sure)...I have had the same thing, oddly enough, a clot in my left leg (which went away)
and have chest pains frequently, it was diagnosed as anxiety...Anxiety can really do some wierd things to your body, it can take over if you don't realize it...But please make sure there isn't something more going on just for safety's sake....If you have symptoms like me, you probably have these problems on days when anything breaks your normal routine...Anxiety is a real condition...It isnt just in someones mind..And I have known the strongest of people who had to take meds for it, at least temporarily if not longer..You should really get checked out, there are alot of things out there that can help if it is anxiety, aside from medication...Good luck, best wishes...Christa
