Q: Severe Back Pain While Pregnant

I am about 9 weeks prego. Recently within the past 2 weeks, I have been having severe, nauseating lower back pain that seems to rush around to the front of my hip on the left side. It is so bad that sometimes I can barely stand to walk, sit, lay down or even stand in one position. My mom said that it could be that the baby is laying on a sciatic nerve. Does anyone know anything about this? Or what else could it be?

It is most likely the sciatica I just gave birth to my second child he is 4 months old now and from my 4th month until the end I had horrible cripling pain/ annoyance I talked with the Dr. And they said that I could try massage ( by professional only) or acupuncture.. I opted to deal with the pain dont like needles :d sorry I wish that I could help u good luck

Possible bulged disc also. You can get this issue from coughing or sneezing also. Could result in surgery of the back, but if only micro, then 95% chance you will be fine with solid doctor. Just a possibility. Would likely have pain down the whole leg into the foot and maybe some numbness in the rear and down the leg.

Extremely eHealthy
Possibly a kidney stone. I had issues with that with my last baby. It started around the same time. I went to the er and they said it was a kidney stone and I would pass it...But I never did. So, who knows what it was. The last time I had pain (and I had vomitting) was when I was about 7 mos. Then I haven't had anything since. See the doc if it keeps bothering you.

back pain
im 32 weeks pregant and i have degenerative disc disease and disc hernations. I have severe back pain as well, my pain was similar to yours at the beginning of my pregnancy and the doctor said i had severe sciatica right sided which cause my leg to go numb and throb from my hip to my toes and a sharp pain shooting through. It is very painful. The only thing you can do is excercise and do hot and cold treatments and get lots of rest.
