Crying or Very sad the day before yesterday I was driving with my best freind. I was late for school and he was takeing me. Traffic was backed up so he sped down the median to get to the turn lane and he smashed into a van! The people in the ambulance made my mom take me to the hospital because they said something was wrong with my baby. They said everything was fine but they didnt even check anything. The only thing they did was push on my belly a little. Anywho im bruised up pretty bad and even though they said everything is okay im having horrible pains im my abdomen that shoot down and hurt reeeeeaaaallly bad. There is a weird color of discharge...Not blood...Its brown...(is that normal?) the people in the e.R. Didnt say anything about it when I told them... I dont have any insurance and neither did the driver of the vehicle. I dont have the money to spend 400 dollars again for them to tell me nothing is wrong. What should I do? Any advice would really help a lot...Or if you know anything from previous experiences it would help to. Thanx

My Goodness...
Lil, I have never been in that predictament before and I am not all that experienced in this kind of thing... I think that you should just relax and wait until someone on here can reassure you everything is ok. Brown blood means that its not fresh. So that is probably a good thing. The pains in your belly could be a bad thing... How far along are you? If you feel that you should go to the doctor, $400 or not, it's worth not losing your baby. Be more demanding, they are there to help you... Give it a couple days and if the pain presist, give them another try.
Sarah
i wish you all the luck... Smile

Hey hun,
im so sorry to hear about the car accident...I dont wanna scare ya, but if all of a sudden ur getting pains and an unusual discharge(moreso the pain) I would definitely get into ur doctor asap....Ur body has different ways of telling u somethings not right...So this pain could very well mean something is going on...Please please go see a doctor as soon as possible to make sure everythings ok...Demand an ultrasound or to be checked by a professional...Best of luck and my prayers are with you.

Nancy C. , Ma Here For You.
Hi lil666, my name is nancy, im 20 years old, a mother of a 7th old baby boy and a medical graduate. I am also lildreamers older sister. Im no md but im a ma ( medical assistnat and work for a internal medicine doctor and may be able to help you. I read your story and first of all I would like to say that not all doctors are correct. I would definitley advise you get a second opinion by another obstetrican. Accidents in any kind could be a effect on a growing baby causeing miscarriage or even death in side the womb as well as growth and development dysfunctions. Cramping and pain as well as dicharge is normal during pregnancy. Every female is diffrent so maybe you get brown discharge but if your still worried u should still go. You say you dont have insurance and my question is if you dont, how do u get prenatal care? How old r u? Your parents should be able to provide you with insurance. Where are you from? Are there any pregnancy clinics near you? There are always help for you to get for young girls who seek help during pregnancy( I also volunteer at a pregnancy clinic wich is next door to my work) like free prenatal care. Its always important to have check ups cause no matter how fine you feel ...Something can be wrong! Take it from me, I know. I was in for my 2nd to last check up befor my due date and I was feeling fine...Just the usual and then they told me that I was losing amniotic fluid ( and my water wasnt broken) and they needed to induce me before it got dangerous. So please get back to me if u need any more help Smile

Okay I Saw a Doctor
I got myself on medicaid this week and went to my new ob gyn....(all caps-) everythings fine!! Hooray! Got an ultrasound and everything. He said the cramping could have been from the shock of the seat belt but it was not effecting the baby. That makes me happy. Its about a week and a half later now and im fine....Except the huuuuugee black and green bruise on my knee....The cramping stopped and im back to normal.

As for where I got my prenatal care before....Well I didnt get any...I just barely got my prenatal vitamins...Redic huh?..(redic-a word my little sister says because she cant say rediculous lol) my family is really poor and really busy...We only see eachother at night when its to late to do anything. The kids have school, the adults have work. It's just how my family is I cant help it. Anywho thanx for your support and all.

I am glad that you got on medicaid, that it what I went for, we aren't wealthy either, as a matter of fact when I was pregnant I was taking care of the house while my mom was on the road...I had to take care of everything including making my way to school every morning. Most people would love to be able to do that, decide if you wanna go to school or not, and if I wasnt so mature(as my mom would say) I would have done that too. But you need to learn how to take care of yourself. I went and got my own medical, my own wic. I did everything on my own. I have never been in as much as you are in , but I am close. And I have had discharge like that before too, but dont be alarmed. But still consult a doctor if you havent. I am here for you if you need me!!

We are here for you if you need us!! :d
