I had unprotected sex with withdrawal after only taking the pill for six days. I'm a sunday starter so I know I should be using another method for seven days (said the ortho-lo website) or a month (said the doc). I also read that if you are a sunday starter and you take the pill within three days of your period beginning (which I did) you are protected from the beginning.

I just want to know how big of a mistake this is...Also what to believe.

Well, there are conflicting stories with the drug inserts, what docs will tell you and what those of us who know will tell you.Theoretically, you are protected after the first week. Most docs will tell you to use a backup for the first pill pack. Those of us who either know someone who got pregnant while on the pill or experienced this themselves will tell you no method is 100% all the time- will tell you to always use a backup unless you are prepared to become a parent. This does sound like overkill, but if want complete coverage, this is the only sure way, besides abstinance.(we know that that method does not work!!!)best to you!Patty
