Approx 3 weeks ago I started getting what I can only explain as a "brain pulse". It's a sudden onset of pressure in one particular spot (just above my left temple) with no pain. (i've experienced stabbing pains three times in this spot since my symptoms began but generally pain is not associated with the attacks). The "pulses" tend to come in clusters, and cause various symptoms depennding on the severity. It usually makes me confused, makes my vision blurry, lightheaded...Like i'm walking in a dream. My body gets weaker than usual. Twice i've experienced some numbness and tingling on my right side (fingertips, lips, cheek, etc) but never paralysis. The numbness subsided an hour or so later, followed by a pins and needles sensation for the remainder of the day. The next morning I was again confused, often catching myself at work staring at nothing or forgetting what the task at hand was. I am only 25 yrs old and am generally very healthy (no significant health issues and approx 10 lbs over my ideal weight) and am alert. I don't take drugs or drink, although I do smoke. Approx a month ago I tried to quit smoking and took zyban sr for 1 week. I don't believe that's related, but am throwing it out on the table anyway.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
Thank you!

I am sure I have no idea what is happening. But I have had similar feelings. I've felt a peculiar throbbing or stabbing pain in my head, best described as being "directly back from the corner of my eye socket closest to my nose"..Strange?

Age Does Not Matter
Sometimes migraines and anxiety can produce these similiar effects, you can and should get checked, I was 29 when I had a stroke. The doctors at first did pass it off as the above and sent me home, only to realize the next day it was a stroke, times two. All I can say is to be thorough with check up and make sure doc is to. Do not let them treat you as if you are too young to have this occurr. By the way if you smoke and take birth control you may want to quit, as both can play major roles in forming clots that leads to stroke
