Blood Test Neg- Dr States May Still Be Preg?? Posted: 10-23-03 14:30pm
Have any of you heard this before?
I'm a week and a half late. No spotting
no nothing, i've been on the pill for the
past 6 yrs & take it religiously.
I've been really tired & haven't been
able to hold certain foods down.. I took
3 home tests.. 1st one didn't work, 2nd
one came out -| instead of a + or - &
the 3rd one came back -. I decided to go
to the dr & take a blood test.. I got
the results back today & it was
negative. But when I spoke to the Dr. He
stated it was still early to tell and to
wait another week and test again, that the
test could still come back positive..
Have any of you heard this before?!... I
thought the blood test for the for sure
final answer...
If i'm not preg what else could be
wrong??...

According to something I just read that
the blood tests your hcg level. And I
guess if it is too early maybe not enough
hcg to detect... Hope I am helping.

I had a blood test for my last pregnancy
that came out negative. My
period still did not come and I waited a
little over a month. Then I went into the
doctor thinking I was only a month and a
half pregnant and it turns out the
ultrasound revealed that I was over 4
months! This confirms that the blood test
was incorrect. Wait a while and do it
again.
