Ive been on ortho tri cyclen for 2 years now. I didnt have any problems the first year or so, then I started having some (more when I started worrying about pregnancy and paying attention to my body more). Anyway, this cycle I had breakthrough bleeding which started dec. 2 and lasted up until this past monday dec. 13. It started out as brown discharge with some blood. Then for a few days I was bleeding as if I had my period. Once I startd my placebo pills it went back to being brown discharge. I usually start my period on wed, once/twice on thurs. Of my placebo week, or sometimes late tues. Night. However, on tues. I started bleeding again...Exactly 28 days since my last period. I had cramping monday and felt "crappy", some cramping sun. And tues. I had cramping, bloating, achiness, and just felt "crappy" all around. I bled tues. Morning, then in the afternoon it stopped, then I started with some brown discharge and then started bleeding again. I bled all day wed. And by wed. Evening it was hardly anything and this morning (thurs.) I hardly have any bleeding.

I also started taking paxil cr this cycle which I think messed up my system. I havent had sex since sept. So I doubt I am pregnant. We have "fooled" around and he "might" have slipped in the tip of his "thing" last fri. When he was rubbing against me annally, but if he did it hardly went in and it was in for a split second.

I will be starting ortho tri cyclen on sun. So hopefully everything will get better... Does anyone else have really short periods?

Yup... I'm on alesse and my periods now last anywhere between 1-4 days instead of the usual 5. It's great! When I was on ortho though, my period lasted a really long time and it was really heavy. Ortho caused me so many problems I ended up switching to another brand.
