From a man's point of view, wetter is sooooo much better. I know when my wife is not wet enough, it is uncomfortable for her and for me. If I know she's not very wet, I will use the lube we have.

Now what is awesome to me is something that we do sometimes. I will go down on her which will make her wet, and her natural wetness is added, but if I get her to cum it's very wet.
