I am 20 yrs. post menopause due to a total hysterectomy with bil. salpingo-oophorectomy. I was on Premarin until approx. 2 yrs. ago. I have always had "hot flashes" from not having a better way to describe them. Several times a day my whole body gets hot and I break out into a dripping sweat. However, they seem different from what I used to have, and they are continuously getting more severe. I have been told they are due to hypoglycemia, hypothyroid ( they did not quit when I started taking Synthroid), high cholesterol, etc., etc. I do use estrogen cream occasionally, with no noticable difference. I eat tofu every day in a breakfast drink. What tests can I request to find out the true cause.
Any advice would be appreciated.
