It seems like at least once a month I get these terrible neck pains and sometimes they leed to terrible migrains and then the migraines leed to me vomiting. I am 16 now and all this probably started when I was 14. The docter says that she thinks it might have something to do with my period but for me it just seems very odd that it just randomly started after I had had my period for a few years. Also they don't usuallly come at a certain time of the month or near when I get my period, they just come whenever. I have special medicine that I am supposed to take once I feel the neck pain but it is really hard to tell what is going to leed into a migraine because I get neck pains all the time but it doesn't always leed to migraines. Very confusing... Yes. Does anyone else out there have similer symptoms? Or does anyone have any thoughts as to what is going on? I am really tired of vomiting all the time! Haha

thanks,
lost and fallen

Menstrual Migraines?
My migraines started when I was a teenager also and as the years passed, I kept a calendar and realized that they were hormonal- they sometimes came at ovulation (14 days before menstruation), or premenstrual (1 week before) or right at the end of my period. I have had them for a very long time and tried many treatments. My advice to you is to take your doctors advice and use your medicine at the earliest possible sign. If you are aware that it is a sensitive time hormonally from your calendar ( I would sure start keeping one and showing your migraines and your periods on it) and you have the neck pain and are even beginning to feel nauseous, it probably is a migraine. Some little things i've learned over the years. The nausea is just as important as the headache. Ask your doctor about a medicine for nausea. When I get a headache now. I take a migraine shot, pain medicine and a nausea pill immediately. This has basically solved my problems. Before this treatment, I had to go to the hospital everytime, because I would get so dehydrated from the vomiting. Also, you really should pay close attention to the food triggers for migraine which include (poo)chocolate, mushrooms, soy, artificial sweetners, etc. Ask you dr for a list. Also stay away from perfumes and other strong odors. And keep warm. Good luck!!

Menstrual Migraines
My migraines also started when I started my period and I am in my 30's. I kept a diary of when they came and when I could tell they were coming as you said "the neck part" I would also take my migraine meds no matter what to prevent it and take everyday for 3-4 days. I still do it to this day, another trick that I do, I think your body might not be ready for (i only say that because I am done with kids) is that the birth control pill, I take one everyday, and don't stop, not even to have a period and then the hormone level doesn't drop and that is what causes my headaches, and I am headache free, it is proven to be safe and no period. Don't do this unless it is okay with your obgyn!!!!!!!!!!..Good luck

Why are you getting these neck pains? Maybe a trip to the chiropractor is in order- that might help your headaches.
