One thing that helped me is to write in a journal. I still occasionally write, but it is nowhere near the amount I used to. I am much more easy-going and happy now... I've been on prozac and trileptal now for about three months, and I have xanax for emergency anxiety spells (like when I have to go to the dentist, or I had to take my son in for eye surgery).
I also had to change the way I think... That's the hard part - that's the part that requires a professional's help. I still have some worrisome spots, but i'll be okay.
