Hey
Well you're not alone. I had the exact same problem. I've tried every deoderant out there and nothing seemed to work. I was talking to some people about it and they suggested drysol (not sure if you tried it yet) well, it was the best thing i've ever used! It worked! Go to your pharmacist and ask them for drysol (its kind of expensive..Well$25 cdn) you'll have to put it on every night before bed (make sure you have an old shirt on because it will dye your shirt) and after about a month you can use it every other night, then every third night, etc etc. It starts to work after your first week. Its awesome. If this doesnt work, ask your pharmacists for somethng stronger. Hth

Drysol
Be careful with drysol, whatever you do do not put it on fresh shaved armpits!!!! Also it tends to make your armpits turn a grayish colour that's not dirt. It might burn or irriate your armpits once in a while, I used it for about 6 months before getting fed up with it, it does work though.

Just a pain in the ass.

There are other options too. Botox injected into the underarms is a temporary way, a few times a year , removal of the sweat glands, and something called ets where they cut the nerves that controls the sweating, these are permanent, and are covered under insurance usually.

Sweat Gland Removal
I had my sweat glands removed when I was 17. It worked vvery well for a very long time, until they grew back. Took about 25 years, but they are back. The doctor warned me when I had them removed that this would happen at some point, but to get that long from the removal was worth it!! And yes, if you have them removed, the sweat still needs to escape, it will come out somewhere else---for me it was my forehead. Doctor said it is different for everyone. Kind of like a little surprise when it's all done. Hope this helps.

you mean you started to sweat out of your forehead after the operation? I sweat bad out of my forehead not really under my arms. What can I do to stop this? What does this operation involve?

Treatments
Treatment for underarm sweating is a lot easier than anything else. You can removal the sweat glands there, but not in any other body parts that sweat. There is a sugery called ets, a thoracic surgeon goes into your chest with a little camera and clips the nerve that makes you sweat, and they clip a different nerve for whatever body part sweats. Many people jump into this prcedure without hearing the bad side effects. It makes you have reflex sweating, (re-routing the sweat somewhere else, and usually 10 times worse than the original spot) and makes you feel very cold and constant wet all the time. Your body cant cool itself like a normal person. You sweat from the waist down and burn up on top. Some people do have success with it, but its like playing russian roulette, you cannot predict how the outcome will be. Some people say it ruined their life..! I had this surgery booked and after reading the horror stories, I cancelled to go with the sweat gland removal, because reflex sweating is much less, and it doesnt mess with your nervous system. There are medications you can take for sweating, but they dont seem too successful. Do you sweat alot from yuor forehead just when you eat? Or constantly?

I sweat when it is really hot, way more than a normal person. I also sweat the most when my anxiety is high. I get nervous and sweat. When I start to sweat my anxiety peaks and I get anxiety about sweating so much it makes it worse. It sucks. I take zoloft and busbar for the anxiety.

If its just mostly from anxiety, medication would probably work well. The problem with most people is they need to take it everyday, and they bcome immune to it, and need to raise their doses. In your situation maybe you could get it to take for days when you may be more nervous and dont want to sweat? That way you wouldnt become immune to it and it wouldnt stop working after a while. Also, I know they use botox in underarms and hands and sometimes even feet for sweating, im not sure but maybe they can inject it into the forehead for sweating, much like its normal use, for wrinkles. It last a few months, but it expensive. Look into it! Search hyperhidrosis online and youll find tons of people with different sweating problems and all the ways they treat it.

I'm not alone
I thought I was alone with my sweat gland problem, I see that I'm not. I seem to sweat at allllll times of the day, when I get out of the shower I sweat. I feel like deodrant makes me sweat more. As soon as I put it on I sweat, if I dont put it on I smell. My right pit is worst then the left. I've been thinking about the surgery, but not sure what I should do.
My skin is really sensitive so I know the drysol will make me brake out. I guess I should see a consultant. Please help!!

botox didnt work
okay- so i have been to all doctors, had botox 3 times- two days after it came back, and it hurts three times worse then getting a tattoo. trust me! i have tried every deodarent, perscription, over counter, store brand ranging from 5-20 dollars each type. spray on, cream, regular, etc. nothing works. perscriptions are not fda approved; many doctors perscribe meds and patients have major side effects - which can cause heart pulps which can lead to heart attack etc... cause its not meant for sweating. surgery is not covered by insurance. botox is covered with HAP Completely through a dermatologist. i heard of a product on rachael ray called: sweat block- which u dab on once a week; a firefighter used it and swore by it- said that for an entire week u dont sweat at all; but u have to use some other deodarant just for not smelling, i guess cause it is scentless. another firefighter tried that ionic device and it was like 200 dollars and said it helped a bit but it didnt stop sweat and that its 45 minutes of use everyday once a day for an entire week- and he was still sweating,. i dont know about u guys- but i sweat when im cold more then when its hot out. i dont sweat when i exercise as much as living day to day blotting my underarms with tissue, sweat through shirts embarassing at work, and i probably have million dollar arm pits by now over the course of 10 plus yrs. its worse also when its humid, before it rains, freezing temps, but perfect when its dry heat and like 80 degrees, maybe we should all move to arizona or something!

How much does the surgery cost for suctioning them out? or is it usually covered by insurance. I am forced to wear sweatshirts at school yearround because I am embarrassed of the sweat stains. and then the anxiety makes you sweat more cause your worried about sweating Sad
