Listen, vanessa is right. Talk to your mom. Who would she tell? If you and your mother have a good realtionship, the you should be able to tell her. Also, a school counseler would be a good choice. All of their conversations with students are completely confidential. Just try to have fun and don't over work yourself.

15 Under Stress
I think that is the case anymore with younger people. They have so much to worry about it is not even funny. In the world we live in today most teenages have so much more to face. I think that when family members put to much pressure on their children it makes them want to turn away and walk the other way. I think yes you are 15 but you do know right from wrong, and I think eventhough they tell you about your school and everything else you are going to do what you want to. That is just how teenagers are, they need to make mistakes, I think so they can learn from them. Not always will your parents be there to guide you, so do what you can do and go on.

Parents Are People Too!!
Hello ashly--well in defence of "some" parents (you must have known you'd get a parent sooner or latter) we all don't put the "squeeze" on our kids. I have a 16yr. Old boy and all his friends "hang" out at our house. I've always been the "kool-aide" type of mom and my son's friends he's luckily has had for many years. They all call me mom and we still at this age, sit at the table when they come home from school and eat cookies.
(they are all so big now it's usually boxes of cookies). We all talk and I also work (as a nurse in a large hospital) so i'm not blind to the world. I hear what they have to say and I agree with the fact that all you kids have way more things to worry about than we did in our day (i'm 40yrs.)
it's true that we don't want our kids to make the some mistakes we made, and if your parents don't have the education for a well paying job--then they know how hard it is. But you do have to talk with your mom-maybe you can ever print off your letter and let her read it if ;you can't find the words. She probably doesn't even realize that she is putting pressure on you. Definitely speak with a school counsellor. They are there for you, and it will be confidential as someone has mentioned. Make sure you make time for fun. You have many years to worry about the future. Pick and choose what seems good now and the rest will follow. You will change your mind probably many times, and even adults go back and re-educate. So even you don't have to "map" out your life just yet. Get the basics--and just do the best that you can. And your father--he will realize some day what an fool he's been.

Definitly social anixety. Nervousness, heart palpatations, stomach upset, possibly vomiting or diarreaha. Palms of hands sweaty, dizziness, decrease desire in general to socialize, and paranoid. Does any of these factors soud familar? There is medication call paxil, which is used for depression, compulsive disorder, social anxiety. You may even need a very sm. Dose-0.5mg. Just to "take the edge off". I know of a teen with this exact issue and they are doing much better-- still very shy, but can now at least go out and socialize. Good luck--and remember you are not alone. You can also try breathing excercises and yoga.

Extremely eHealthy
Prescription Meds a Last Resort!~~~~
Another parent (son 9 & dtr 16) I agree with pretty much all that's been said but please no-one of any age should go on prescribed medications without even trying natural stress relievers (sam-e, dhea, st johns wort, 5htp, yoga, relaxation, meditation, counselling etc to name just a few).

I would also add that while I agree that kids have to make their own mistakes & as parents we can't protect them from all mistakes I also believe that it would be totally wrong to sit by & watch them make mistakes & do nothing by way of giving advice/help etc. Then they at least have more knowledge, more choices - choice knowledge = power.
