Ok.. Today is like any other friday.. We get in the car and go to our work to pick up our checks, cash them, deposit them in the bank so I can use paypal to buy christmas presents I bought on ebay and then we go to get gas.. For the first time in a while.. Instead of putting 5 dollars in.. We put a full tank in because we had the money and gas was really cheap at the gas station we went.. But when we went there, the car conks out right at the gas pump.. He goes out to check the oil and it's empty... Somehow we dropped 5 quarts in maybe less than a week Confused .. Anyway.. He checks to see if there is any oil in the station conveinence store and there isnt.. (convienence store my patoot Rolling Eyes ) well he figures he'll get it on his way up to the gym.. We get home and he puts oil in the car (we only had one quart so he would've still had to buy some) and lets it run for a lil bit and he turns it off and restarts it to see if all is well and it made this horrifying screeching noise and didn't start at all...It was such a horrible noise.. Well either the starter has gone bad or that was the sound of barring on barring.. This may be a new engine.. We don't know.. All we know is that we don't have the money to keep dropping into this car and it's one thing after another so we come to the tough realization that this car has given us a run for our money and it's time to kick it to the curb and eat our losses of whatever we can't sell.. Now we have dropped well over $2000 in this car and we still have to pay off a 900 dollar loan that was used just to buy the car (uncle, not bank).. He is really pissed because he put 2 years worth of work to get that car on the road and not once in those 2 years have we not had to deal with something going up in the car.. He is really pissed because with our job.. He is basically working just to get to work and he just put a full tank of gas.. 25 dollars and now out of all times.. We can't use it.. Couldn't have been when we just put enough to get home or to work.. But after a full tank..
Evil or Very Mad Twisted Evil Mad Rolling Eyes

well right now what we are going to do is work to get my car on the road and drive that until we can either fix his car up or get a new car.. Hopefully we can get a new car and put this vehicular incompetence behind us and learn from this (if the car isn't good enough for the seller to keep...There's a reason)..

The reason it made that sound was the lack of oil!! The starter shouldn't squel! It is always best to buy a car that is no more then 3 years old! I paid 9,000 for mine and it is great!! Never had n e problems except normal wear and tear and it's a chevy cavalier. I hope you guy's get it fixed or can afford a new one! I know how frustrating that can be! What yr is it?

Yeah that was for sure not the starter. That has to do with those things that go up and down in there adn everything. Wow...No offense but your guy must not be a car guy? Lol I think it's pistons if I remember what my hubby rambles on about!! I've heard fo that happening and ruining that area of hte engine if there's no oil. Your probably best getting rid of that car and getting something else. Simply because the pistons if that's what they are, might have really done some damage and it might cost mroe than buying a new car to fix it!!

Yeah I think it maybe time for a new or newer car hun! It will say you money in the long run! I would suggest you sell the car for what u can and absorb the lose then try to get a loan. Also remember anytime you drive a car be sure to check and see if anything is leaking! Have you had a mechanic look at it? It could be anything in the engine seeing as the oil is a lubricant! Good luck dear!

Be glad none fo you have to put in premium in your cars!! We put that in our new car and it blows!! We can't put anything else in, or it'll ruin the car. But each fill up costs us nearly 30 bucks or more!! It blows!!

Lmao I wish ours cost that.
It costs around the equivalent of $96 to fill our car and we can easy do 50,000 miles a year!!!!!
Fortunately it is a company car and the company pay for the fuel and maintenance! Laughing

thing that really annoys me is that we even have our own oil supplies just off the coast in the north sea yet we have to pay so much tax on the damn stuff!
