My husband was diagnosed with severe depression, social anxiety and ocd. Does anyone know of any support groups for families of severely depressed people? Its quite difficult to live with at times and would like to talk with others in the same position. I have contacted several hospitals and none of them offer any such groups.

Try your local university as they often have programs to help if they have a psychology dept. You may want to read up on cognitive behavioral therapy (cbt) as well as it solved all my anxiety, panic and depression and the tools are great for dealing with any stress in life so may be a big help to you and the rest of your family as well. My favorite starter book on cbt is "been there, done that? Do this! By sam obitz. It's written from a sufferers point of view and very illuminating as it will help you understand why he's depressed and how you can help him.
Take care.
