Has anyone ever used antidepressants for ibs? Does it really help at all?

They Tried Me On One: Amitriptyline
This gave me major mental problems though. I am not sure how well it helped. I felt like I was very stoned or something most of the time. I guess that it can help some people, but it gave me bad side effects.

antidepressants
hi im on amitriptiline at the moment for ibs 50mg for the past 5 months they seem to help a bit .what are your symptoms are you getting back ache and like a distention at sides of your upper abdomen ?
