Hi,
i have add and depression! My doctor just put me on paxil, after having bad side effects from strattera. My biggest problem was that it was giving me nausea and an upset stomach. I'm afraid paxil will make me sick too. I also heard of bad withdrawal period when you stop taking it. I was wondering if anyone has experienced that with paxil?

I took paxil had no withdrawal or side effects, but I took effexor and had the worst withdrawal you could think of. I dont recommend anyone to take it! It felt like shocks were going through my brain. I have heard some do have withdrawal from paxil but I didnt. Good luck!

Hi I was just browsing through and saw your post, im usually in the pregnancy forum. Im not depressed and have not taken paxil, but I watched a special last night on primetime live, you can probably go to their website for more information. From what I saw it was really scary all the withdraw effects especially on teens wanting to commit suicide. My best friend was on it for some kind of anxiety disorder, it made her seem like a zombie, like she had no emotions at all it was very unlike her. After a few weeks she switched to something else, I dont know what its called, but its a small blue pill, anyways shes doing great now, shes like her old self again, her only side effect is being tired all the time. I would really suggest using your search engine and look for primetime live and see what you can find. It aired last night atlike 9 pm central time. Good luck.

Hi
i don't have experience with paxil but my mother had bad sleep side effects, night terrors and sleep walking, that stopped when they discontinued it. I tried strattera not for depression but was given that to help me stay awake, as I have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. Strattera made me extremely ill, severe heartburn, and heart arrhythmia, along with sweating profusely. Didn't know strattera would be prescribed for depression. The paxil for you is at least a more appropriate step for depression it seems to me. If one of your depressive symptoms is sleepiness, maybe that's why you got the strattera...Anyway, a lot of people say paxil helps so try it. Acupuncture helped me with depression before, better than medicine, and I mean the traditional five element chinese kind of acupunture. It's really neat and no side effects at all! Extremely effective for mood problems. And for sleepiness!
