Q: Tingling Sensation In Throat
asked by: amy88 on December 5th, 2004

Has anyone had this before? I have had a tingling sensation in my throat on and off for a few weeks. I have problems with anxiety (panic attacks), which make it sometimes feel like I have a lump in my throat because I stress about the tingling sensation. I do not smoke and I don't drink too much. I stopped drinking coffee a few days ago (was a one cup a day drinker). Orange juice irritates it for a few seconds and I noticed I have small red dots on my uvula. I'm trying to figure out if this is a real problem or psychosomatic, I don't want to go to the doctor if its just anxiety-related. Please help!!

Have you been congested? Do you have allergies? I get it and it drives me crazy! I find allergies make it worse..

I haven't been congested any more than normal (i have congestion due to nose surgery a few years ago), and if I have allergies i'm not aware of what they could be. That is a possibility though. However, I do have big anxiety problems and maybe i'm just obsessing over nothing. Thanks.

Tingling in the throat
I also suffer from thiws, I have GERD, and so might you. Also, I have some scar tissue in the throat, that may cause some of it as well. Along with some disk damage in the Neck. I would definately check for GERD though. It may be the cause, it does hit really hard when it hits.
