The dark side of Cymbalta
I took one 30mg cymbalta for mild depressiona and low libidio. Within hours I had a serious adverse reaction. The drug made me so anxious and paranoid, all I wanted to do was crawl into bed and die. After four days of the debilitating effects I began to contemplate suicide. This was all from one pill! When I called my general practioner she told me it would eventually stop, but it didn't. My husband had to rush me to the emergency room where they gave me a fast acting shot of xanex to calm me down. I made an emergency appointment with a highly recommended doctor the next day. He informed me that the chemicals in the cymbalta damaged part of my brain. I will eventually heal in the months to come, but now I have to take two different serious anti-anxiety drugs and I have to take two months off of work. Not to mention having to ask family to come over and help me take care of my two your children. Do not take this medication without some serious study and a very good doctor to discuss it with. It could cost you your life.

I suffer from major anxiety and depression
I took Zoloft 50mg and it sedated me I was in la la land but felt great...soon as they upped the dose, I was sick as a dog...then, I took Lexapro 10 mg and I felt like I was on an illegal drug, I was sooo sick, legs trembling, sweats, anxiety, turns out it was too strong for me and I had every side effect, but my mother in law takes it and loves it, works great for her. So, everyone is different, you have to find the right pill that works for you. Tell your Dr. if you are sensitive to med's, that's important. One bad experience like these and I'm done. w/those meds...I don't give it another chance. Now, I'm going on Cymbalta 30mg today, we'll see what that does, I'm crossing my fingers. I can't wait to overcome this majoe depression...what a horrible and uncontrollable feeling! God help all of us.

I'm doing research on anti-depressants. Is there anyone on this forum who would like to share their experiences for publication in a thesis?

I am on cymbalta (60mg) and geodon (60mg). Can't tell which med is diong what though. But I'm skeptical about the geodon. Dr I'm seeing has a reputation of keeping his patients well medicated, which I don't want to be. Only test I've taken is for ADHD, will get result next visit. First session I was told I have borderline personality dissorder, and borderline bipolar disorder after an hour of questions and answers. That was August 20th and everytime I visit him I feel like he's pushing me to take the meds even when I tell him how I feel, irritable ,ligh-headed, over-emotional, antsy. He up'd my geodon to 120mg, five minutes later I was yelling and spitting out profanity like an aircraft mechanic, so I'm going back down to 60mg. It hightened my irritability but just as quickly brings me down, almost crying. As stated before, not sure which med is doing what but I don't like geodon. I'm getting a second opinion but will stay on cymbalta to see if it helps with my crazy mood swing.

Joint Pain from Cymbalta?
I began taking 60mg of Cymbalta and 200 MG of Seroquel for my Bipolar 1 disorder about 5 months ago. I also take Lyrica for fibromyalvgia, and have so for a year with no ill side effects other than the usual weight gain and constipation all these drugs seems to have. But for the last 3 weeks I have awakened with terrible joint pain -- ankles, knees, hips, elbows, wrists and fingers. It works itself out in an hour or so after rising, adn I am a very active person who goes to the gym 3-4 times per week. Everything I read about Seroquel mentions no joint pain side efets, but I'm seeing in this formum that others have had joint pain on Cymbalta, and someone's doc suggested extra potassium to compensate for the joint pain. Has anyone else had joint pain associated with Cymbalta? I'm down to 30mg of Cymbalta and up to 300mg for Seroquel.
