My grandmother has been undergoing chemotherapy for cancer in her uterus for almost 2 years. Recently, an abnormal fluid build-up occured in her lungs of which the doctors could not explain. They drained the fluid which occupied over 3/4 of her lungs, hoping it would not come back because of extreme discomfort. Not but a few weeks ago did she notice it was getting harder and harder to breath, even the slightest movement such as picking up a glass of water left her out of breath. We took her to the emergency room hoping more fluid was to be drained. As the doctors began the surgery, the discovered it was not fluid in her lungs, the cancer had spread. She is currently at baptist memorial hospital and not expected to live for more than a few days. The doctors have said that nothing can be done about the situation. I do not know much about organ transplants except that donors are very rare. My grandmother is 69 years of age and has several different degrees from college. She is big on volunteer work and loves being around children. She has probably read more books in the past year than the average person does in their life time. Despite the fact of what she has been going through the past 2 years, she manages to be optimistic and cheerful, cherishing every second of life. For the past 14 years, she has been my role model and best friend. All the time she tells me to pursue my dream of going to medical school and becoming an oncologist. If you have any advice or know any really good doctors that could help her out in the next few days, please post or e-mail me.

Thank you

- bailey

Your Grandmother
Hello
I am sorry,i know this is late but it is always sad to let go of one who means so much and is so good to us. I pray she doesn't suffer much,or did not,and that she had salvation. Remember the good times, and some day the pain will go,and the good memories will overshadow them. Sometimes we just have to let go.

Only a Few Days Left
Dear bailey, if it isn't already too late, there is one person I can think of who might be able to help but he's expensive and not really a medical doctor. It has been proven that most cancer is diet related...Improper assimilation of proteins and sugars. Also, malnutrition and chemical use can be attributed to the disease. Look up Dr. Gary young in utah.
