I have a lump the size of a nickle under my arm, went to the doctor today and thank goodness it's just a swollen lymph node from mono. Glad I got that checked out!

can sum1 help me because i got a lump under my armpit. If you have an answer please answer me. What is the cause of this lump? and it hurt when i press it. help me please.

I went to see the doc today for the same reason - small pea sized lump which hurts when you squeeze it. She said it is probably a sebaceous cyst and I am going to see hospital consultant to have it removed in 2 weeks. She said it is harmless but might get infected and as it is uncomfortable best to be removed. Don't worry - just see the doc!!

i get them all the time usually they go away but i have this one that is the size of a dime and when u push on it with ur finger its hallow on the inside but hard around it and it hurts it feels like there is a needle poking me i was able to put a slit in it and a bunch of puss came out of it but its so painful and i dont have medical to go find out what it is... i didnt start getting these till i got pregnant four years ago and have had them every since

Im a 17 year old female Oh god i don't know what to do, ive got a lump under my armpit, and its about the same size as a pea, its not a large spot, and im scared that it could be something really bad, ive got a few, but ive never thought it was a problem, until my aunt was talking that some cancers are genetic (can't spell) and i told my mum that i had lumps under my armpits, and she told me that shes gonna get me a docotors appointment right away, but im really scared, im really scared of these sorts of things, can you please help me? i dont know what to do!!

I have a huge lump under my armpit.
I am pretty sure that it is an infection of some sort. It hurts like crazy and is pretty red. I had a bad rash, so I shaved my arm for the first time ever to put some aloe under there. Low and behold, I got this lump.
Anyway, do you think that I need to go to the doctor to get antibiotics or will it go away on its own.

Well im 13 and i have a lump under my armpit it is about the size of a quarter!
im so scared i keep on telling my mom to take me to the doctors and she is telling me it is nothing, When i get a grip of it,it feels a dis formed ball with a dent.

If your mom won't take you to see a doctor, I suggest that you see your school nurse. If she thinks you should be seen by a doctor then maybe she can convince your mom to take you.

the lump under the arm pit is 99% a lymph node. and if you have an infection the lymph nodes will swell.. this is what contains dead white blood cells that have fought off an infection. perhaps u should see a doctor for antibiotics.. fyi lymph nodes are all over your body.. upper side of trachea on neck, groin etc.

i just found a hard pea-sized lump under my right armpit a few days ago. it's a bit visible, it's hard when i feel it, and i think it's quite deep.

but unlike most people who mentioned about pain, my lump does not hurt at all, not even when i touch or press it.

i'm also fatigued sometimes. i'm 24.

any ideas what this could be?

i'm 20 years old. i've had lumps in both my armpits since the past 5-6 years. they're generally not painful but before period they enlarge and cause discomfort and at times pain aswell. doctor has examined my breast and did not find anything wrong. the only conclusion was that i was swollen lymph nodes and i should monitor.
i dont know if i should do something else.
i used to shave my arms, so it can be a reason.

my friend has a lump under her arm pit and she says it hurts and it is itchy sum times and she already had one so she dont no wat it is so i think its a sweat gland tht can be solved wit her washin her arm pits at least 4 hours a day. and i think she should change her deoderint>>>> i am 13 years yung and please help my friend>>>>

Hi Im 14 yrs old,I have this soft mount which is about 2" big under my right armpit.It developed 2 yrs ago.It is like extra fats ,it doesnot pain atall even if I press.But it looks so abnormal.Pls help me,do I need to go to doctor.

Help i am a 34yr old female and about a year ago i found a small hard lump under my left armpit @the time i just had a baby so i didnt worry but after a couple months it was big enough to see if i lift my arm so i went to my md but he said stop shaving for a while so i did but it didnt go away now i have 2 lumps under that arm and i saw another doc a couple mnths ago he said it was a lymph node but that was all he said and now its really scaring me because if it is a cancer and im just ignoring it....i dont know what to do the doctors are just brushing me off and i have a huge family history of breast ca...HELP???

I have a lump in my armpit the size of a billiard ball.

It is not painful to the touch just sort of tender. I was sent to the ER today as it is the weekend and my doctor is out of town, and the ER resident said it was def. a tumor but couldn't say if it was benign or malignant and that I need to go to a specialist... I am going on Tuesday (since it is a holiday weekend) but I am totally freaking out!!!!

I mean holy S*** I am totally totally freaking out. My husband had a brain tumor last year and I just don't think I can deal with this... it isn't as if we live under power lines or anything... so I have no idea why this is happening.

What sort of cancer is this likely to be? Anyone have any idea or even just some way for me to not freak the F*** out? Thanks.

I found a small pea-size lump in the middle of my left armpit a few days ago and was really worried. but after a lot of research ive found that its most probably from antiperspirant and spraying too close to the skin, which i do a lot i only noticed the lump when i was washing, so it hadn't been there long and was not causing me pain, just slight discomfort when i pressed down.
4 days later and it's gone down a lot, also my friend said she gets a similar lump along with PMS, which seems just as likely that thats what my problem is.
I'd suggest to leave any lumps for at least 5 days or until your period has been and gone so that menstrual cycle causes can be excluded. dont prod and push down on it all the time as this could make you paranoid that it's more painful, when its probably from all the prodding! obviously, if you are having more severe pain than mild, go and see a doctor, or if its very hard or large/swollen.

HI To those of you who have found lumps in your armpits I know the feeling.I have had 3 different lumps removed and they still seem to come back.I have been on a round of antibiotics for about 1 year.To no avail about a week after I stop taking them they come back.I"M TIRED OF THIS!!!The doctor says not to worry but of course I DO!!I"m a single mother of 2 boys so I really need to take care of myself but how am I suppose to do that when I"m always having my armpits cut into?Someone needs to tell these doctors that we need to know the cause so we can be prepared and educated on this.But alot of these doctors tell you not to worry,YEAH RIGHT!!!Please don"t treat us like another number and help us figure out what the hell is going on in our bodies!!!!!

I had breast cancer last year and my lymph nodes out also. Now i just found a lump under my arm and am slightly nervous. I am going to go see a doctor, but reading all of these posts has made me feel better and remind me that there are other reasons for lumps other than cancer. My fingers are crossed!!!!
