Soars in armpit
I had my son on January 4th 2008- about 3 months ago. I stopped breastfeeding my son out of my right breast about a month ago due to a cracked and bleeding nipple. After stopping the feeding, I got three pimple like soars, almost like blisters, on my boob. My son also developed the same sore on his chin. Then I got a rash in both my arm pits, but I continued to shave. About a week ago, I developed large painful bumps in just my right armpit- deep pimple like volcano soars. It started with one in the middle of my armpit and then 6 big bumps form in a half circle around that one. I have never experienced anything like this before and both my husband and I were scared. I went to the doctor and he said that after pregnancy the skin changes pH and that these soars are common. He gave me a bacteria cream to apply twice a day as well as antibiotics. My doctor told me to stop using deodorant and after applying the cream to cover my armpits with baby powder. To be honest, the baby powder is what eased my discomfort. So, anyone out there with this problem, just remember to take antibiotics once a day for 1 week (I don't like antibiotics, but when the soars burst it can cause staff infection if you don't take it), clean the area with gentle soap twice a day (I used the ultra mild top-to-toe baby wash I bought for my son), then cover the area with baby powder. I thought I would start smelling of BO, but with washing the area twice a day and using the baby powder, I never smelled bad. It's been one week since I last saw my doctor and the soars are almost completely gone. I think the bumps formed because I stopped breast feeding. Posted by Sofia

Small lump under left arm prior to menstrual cycle.
I am a 20 yr old female in somewhat good health condition, though I smoke cigarettes and have Asthma.

For a few yrs now about a week prior to my Period, I receive a small nickel-sized bump underneath my left arm and left arm only.

It isn't really painful but is somewhat bothersome when shaving or pressing against it.

What are the possibilities of this being a life-threatening disease and what could this possibly be?

I get the small bumps occasionally, but yesturday a rather large bumps came up. I do not have insurance or even enough money to pay for the ER. Is there some other way to find out about this? It is the first one that has ever been painful! And I mean PAINFUL!

i am 14 years old and female. i found about 2 or 3 enlarged limp or lymph notes on my neck about 18 months ago and i went to the doctor. She said they were nothing serious and would go away in a couple of months. 8 months later i went back b/c they were still there and i was given the same response. Well about 3 months ago i found a large lump under the skin of my right armpit. I haven't told anyone but should probally be going to a doctor right? The thing is i dont want to go just to be told its nothing AGAIN i want it to go away! what should i do?!?!

please help
My daughter is who is 27 years of age is now facing another surgery due to having a sebaceous cyst under her armpit. Right now, the scars she already has from two other surgery's is totally unreal. Looks like she was cut open using a hack saw. When my daughter was in her mid 20's, he had very bad facial acne. It was so bad, the doctors put her on accutane for sometime. This however did clear up her facial acne but is now dealing with this problem under her armpit. The lump under her arm seems to ooze out this very thick green like pus. It is totally disgusting. So much oozes out, she has had to resort to using feminine pads! What is very unclear right now, is how to prevent this from continuously coming back. Her doctor has got her on the strongest antibiotic right now and that in itself worry's me.

There are only so many antibiotics that are offered and I have heard from a very reliable source, that if my daughter develops a completely entirely different problem that requires a strong antibiotic, that she will become immune to the antibiotic. Being the highest form of antibiotic she is on, that will mean that no other antibiotics would be available to use.. if in fact she would ever need one. I don't think that antibiotics are the answer. It hasn't been before and now she's in for a third operation. For the fact the surgery has not worked the two other times, how is a third going to help her?? she can't keep going through operation after operation. If anyone has any ideas in what to do, it would be deeply appreciated. PLEASE write me.

Lump under armpit (shooting pain)
I have a lumpy area under my armpit which almost feels like a clogged vein which has expanded as a result. It's producing a dull ache with sometimes causes a sharp shooting pain from its location down to my breast. Also the pain is now radiating down my arm. Any idea what it could be? I've made an appointment to see an oncologist but the earliest they could fit me in is a month from now.

I don't know what it is but I wont freak out till I no wat it is
So I just took a shower and I usually shave my pit hairs down to a number one every two weeks.

Anyways, I was taking a shower today, and ooops! What do you know! I gota weird unusual lump kicking it there waitin for me to welcome its appearance.

Anyways, I obviously have not noticed it till this point, but as soon as I did, I definitely did notice it. It doesn't hurt, and I checked my chest, balls, and other pit for lumps as well----all clear. Just this little bugger annoying me.

Haha, it's funny cause I just noticed people saying their lumps hurt, and mine didn't hurt till I read other peoples posts. Haha, must be psychological.

Anyways, so it must be due to the overwhelming sweat glands then right? Cause like I said, it doesn't really hurt. Just something unusual on my body that I don't like sitting there....I think I'm gona get it checked out just in case.

lump under arm
I am a 23 yr old male and have recently had a lump under my right arm, which turned out to be an abcess. i was told by my gp that the cause was an infected sweat gland. the lump burst whilst i was in hospital waiting for surgery to remove the fluid. today i have found another lump under the same arm which is starting out the same as the previous one. i am concerned that this is linked to the last lump and i will see my gp on monday. The lump is a red spot about the size of a small garden pea, i have sprayed it with savlon spay. i was under the impression that it was a normal type of spot but due to the amout of pain and size i have a bad feeling that it is linked to the previous one and im concerned for the future as this will interfere with work and my general life. what a carry on Smile

Lump in armpit
I was really scared when I was in my mid twenties because I found a lump in my armpit. It turns out it was either a swollen sweat gland (and yes, it wsa more prominent around that time of the month) or an ingrown hair from shaving. I am now in my early thirties and I still get this from time to time. Please don't assume, go to the doctor to get it checked out. Take care.

lump in right armpit
Hi, I'll be 18 in a little over a month. About, maybe 3 or 4 days ago i found a lump under my right arm. I told my mom and we're gonna ask the doc. After reading everybody else's messages, I feel a lot better. There are a lot of things that can cause lumps in the armpit. Mine is about the size of a nickel and it hurts when I push on it, sort of like a bruise. Def gonna check with doc in the next few days! Everybody should check with their doctor, just to be on the safe side!
