My 13 year old daughter dances, tap, ballet, and jazz 3 times a week, she complained of ankle pain 11 weeks ago, x-rays are normal, bone scan normal, mri normal. Recently started neurotin 300 mg every day for nerve pain in the ankle, with no decrease in pain. She had physical therapy for 6 weeks with increase in strength. She wears an afo and tape and can usually walk without pain, but any activity causes pain. I am at a loss with what to do. This has become a chronic pain issue. Any suggestions??????

Was her pain when this happend like exscrushiating......... To the point where she just cried it hurt so bad?! B.C from the sounds she might have torn the ligaments in her anckle or else she might have tendonitus...... I have blown both of my anckles and have had to go to physical therapy over 7 times just for my right anckle! :( its a pretty painful experience and I have to be extreemly careful b.C I play basketball volleyball and other sports to! I also was on pain medicantion that was twice the strenght and that did not stop my pain! Have u tried takin her to a sports medican clinic?? After her physica therapy did they giver her home exercises to do?! If so make sure she is doing them! And maybe she might need to take a break from her dance, tap, ballet and jazz! It might not make her to happy but it might be the best thing for her right now! If its tendonitus it will need to be rested and if its a tare then its surley going to need a lot of rest and ice! Hope this helps...... I would really look into gettin her into a sports clinic
