I know you all must think im a paranoid freak Embarassed (due to my other posts about pregnancy)

but I just was curious as to whether or not bcp causes vaginal discharge? I know it thickens your cervical mucus which makes it harder for sperm to get through (ortho tri cyclen lo). Ive been on them for about 2 yrs. And in the past 8 months (since I started worrying about pregnancy), ive noticed whenever I wipe (sorry to be gross), I have this clear shiny discharge or sometimes light yellow globs (not everytime I wipe). There's been several times when it has come on to my underwear. However, this past week it has been worse (i actually feel wet at times), could it just be this menstrual cycle or the fact that I was on xanax xr for a month and then a week ago today started paxil cr, so there are a lot of changes going on in my body between the hormones in the bcp and whatever chemicals the paxil is releasing. I know I dont have any infections cuz ive been having abdominal pains and I have been seeing numerous drs. Since march all of which have taken urine samples and cultures, one just done a few weeks ago, which came back fine.

Any ideas?

A clear discharge is normal. It is your body's way of cleansing itself. The yellow blobs could be just normal tissue that has been sloughed off.I get that sometimes, too. As long as you have had it checked out,try to calm down-or you will make yourself sick!!Good luck to you.Patty

Not unless your name is mary and your fiance is joseph and he is a carpenter. Not planning any trips to bethlehem, are you??Seriously,if you have had negative preg tests and you get your period, you could not be pregnant.Especially if you have not had sex in 3 months-just doesn't happen.Sweetie, you are headed for a nervous breakdown if you do not stop obsessing over a pregnancy that does not exsist.I wish you the best.Patty

It's normal.. It may not happen to everyone, but I get the same thing on bc. I remember when I first went on being concerned.. But it was ok'd by the doc. Then this past year I went off the pill and went on the depo shot.. I hardly had any discharge all year except the occasional natural discharge. Then a few weeks ago I started back but I am on the patch (same hormones as the pill though). And now the discharge is back.. So i'd say you're fine.
