We have medicare here in australia 2 but it only covers a certain percentage of the cost so we still have to pay the difference. Im lucky, I work for dr's so I dont have to pay for everything if I cant afford it they help me out.

We have medicaid in oregon however it is strictly for children adults with disablities and seniors. When ihad my accident I had no insurence. I had to have 2 life saving surgeries then 4 facial surgeries. They were able to get me on medicaid and it covered a majority of my bills. One surgery along was 300,000. Then my back surgery came to almost 200,000 which ihave to pay for. I was able to receive prescriptions free of charge which are spendy 200.00 for 30 pills. However once I left the hospital and no longer had dr appointments for the injuries I was taken off of medicaide I have about 350,000 owed in dr bills and now the cost of my prescriptions. When I found out I was pregnant oregon offers state insurance free I am now on that until 3 months after the baby is born. So our medicaide is a help but still leaves us with alot of bills.
